From a little forge in Solingen that produces quality knives and blades to a worldwide company that is setting the standard in high-quality cookware, we have come a long way. Over the years we have evolved into inventors. We invented the ice hardening process for FRIODUR® blades to obtain the optimum degree of hardness of the steel. And we came up with SIGMAFORGE® knives that areprecision forged from a single piece of steel to produce a perfect geometry. One of our very earlier inventions was the tool with the difficult-to-pronounce name “Küchenhilfe“ (literally Kitchen-helper) that is one of the most copied scissors worldwide. Which we totally understand, because it’s quite copy worthy.
Since 1731 we`ve been crafting ZWILLING cutlery in Solingen, Germany, home of the world’s finest makers of swords, knives and scissors. Our master bladesmiths train for 8 years before they get their hands on our knives. It’s their life’s work. So when you hold a ZWILLING product, you can be sure you are holding a piece of history and craftsmanship.
