The Fresh & Save vacuum pump is at the heart of the smart storage system by ZWILLING. The sleek, quiet, cordless vacuum pump extracts the air out of our vacuum containers and bags in just seconds and preserves aromas and vitamins. It stops automatically once a sufficient vacuum has been created. Equipped with a long-life lithium-ion battery, the pump can be charged quickly using the included USB via the charging socket located on the pump.

Solid engineering, better than competition, pricey
Valve and design and reliability of seal are great, could be thicker gauge. Each package of (expensive) bags includes a crimper tool and a clever device to make sealing bags with liquids less problematic than other brands. In general a better implementation than most, and the large size bags are large enough for a lasagna pan to fit. Over all the cost is the only real limiting factor, though they are said to be dishwasher safe. By the way, the somewhat less costly (and less well made, with worse seals) FreshSaver bags all work fine with the Zwinning pump, better in fact than with a FreshSaver device.

Large But Zippers Fail - Items Not As Pictured
I purchased the starter set and loved the smaller bags and the vacuum. I ordered the Large set for storing packs of meat in the freezer. 1) The bags I received were large but the zippers are clear not black as pictured. 2) Air seal held but on two bags the zippers tore when opening the bags. By tearing I mean they zipper didn't come apart at the teeth but instead the top portion of the bag with the zipper came apart from the rest of the bag. What I have done with the remaining large bags in the freezer is to run my fingers back and forth on the zipper to warm it up before opening it. I haven't had this problem with using the smaller bags with black zippers in the freezer.

Money Saving Kitchen Accessory
We spend so much money to get the freshest and best produce available. The Fresh and Save pump helps me keep everything fresh so much longer than traditional storage.
The pump has a rechargeable battery that will hold its charge for up to two months. It uses a standard micro usb charger. (not included) Order a 14 pack of resealable bags and you'll be on your way to long lasting fruits, vegetables, meats and cheese. It's also great for marinating chicken or beef. There's also a wine sealer you can order that reseals the bottle keeping it as fresh as when it's first opened. So many more containers, both glass and plastic will be available soon.

Vacuum Sealing Convenience!
Technology these days never fails to impress and this handheld vacuum sealer is no exception. It's lightweight, sturdy, and does the job quick locking in all the freshness in whatever foods you need.
It works for Raw food, Cooked food, frozen fruits, soup and more. The Zwilling Vacuum Seal bags are washable, they keep a tight seal and every bag has a unique QR code that allows you to scan each bag and set expiration dates for each individual bag. It's fantastic and I highly recommend this to anybody that meal preps, Sous Vide, or if you just want to lock in the freshness for your foods as long as possible, buy this product!

Lower product expectations
Despite using the attachments specifically for liquids, the pump still inhaled the death of it. No response from “customer service” many hours after reporting. Might have to write this one off to experience.

The Modern Pump Is the one!
My original pump died suddenly. The squarish form factor was just fine and it worked perfectly right up until it failed. I have a large number of the borosilicate containers. In fact, I have replaced all my old containers because vacuum sealing is a vastly superior way to keep food fresh and safe. I sent my original pump in for warranty replacement. This took forever. I estimate it took well over a month. There is no justification for such a slow response.
There was no way to track progress and I did not want to go without a replacement so I decided to buy a replacement. I saw the Modern was new so I bought it. It is much better than the original for three reasons. First, the cap pops off and on without having to align it. The original only goes back on one way and it is difficult to see the alignment marker. Second, the new pump is more powerful. There is an audible difference in the motor. Finally, the rubber cowl that fits over the container valve is deeper. This is important because you are less likely to suck up liquids by accident. I use this system every day.
If you have a choice get the Modern upgrade.

The coolest most compact food saver around!!!
This product is unique as it is a handheld vacuum pump that when paired with these special bags or containers that you have made become the ultimate tool for food storage or prep that I have seen on the market. I have just started using it but can see almost limitless applications for this awesome little tool. I will be marinating with it, I will be keeping fresh the leftovers that were my fac I rite food but can never finish it all.before they go bad. Anyone who knows anything abiut food knows air is tge enemy. Well you guys definitely solved that problem with this new gadget that I will be using for as long as it will allow me too.

what is the difference between the handheld vacuum sealers?
Hi lennie b, Thank you for your question! There is no difference, both work the same and are interchangeable with all of the Fresh & Save products. The La Mer vacuum pump features a beautiful sea-inspired design with a blue accent.

My vacuum is working but why does it not shut off anymore?
