Excellent pan that streamlines our frying process
Extremely easy to cook in this pan! Clean-up is a breeze also! Our only gripe is we discarded the cardboard wrap on which the barcode is printed, thus we have no way to protect this two week old delayed Christmas gift with the Zwilling warranty!

Love this pan!
This is such a wonderful pan! It is the perfect size to fry up a meal for our family and it's not to heavy for my older kids to use on their own. I love the non-stick coating and the glass lid. It seems durable and will likely last several years.

Are all of the Spirit fry pans made with thermolon?
We have two Spirit lines. The ceramic-coated nonstick style is made with our Thermolon technology. Our ZWILLING Spirit 3-ply Stainless Steel Cookware does not have the nonstick coating.

What is the difference between the spirit cookware and the energy cookware?
Materially, the Spirit and Energy ceramic nonstick lines are the same. The handles and knobs are different, and the Energy style is mirrored/shiny, while the Spirit style has a more brushed steel appearance.

What is the best way to clean this frying pan? There is a residual buildup that isn't coming off. The pan isn't scratched. Would love some assistance.

Can I use metal utensils with this pan? It didn't say in the product literature. Salesman at Williams Sonoma said it won't scratch the coating, but I'm reading mixed reviews.
NO!!! Metal utensils will completely destroy the coating, and you will end up with ceramic flakes in your food! I can say that this coating is way more forgiving than teflon, but, it is still easy to ruin if you do not care for it properly.

I find that things like fried/poached eggs stick to the bottom of the pan. Any suggestions? I read somewhere that using cooking spray was a bad idea so I've never done that. Does this mean I need to use oil and/or butter everytime?
Cooking spray can damage pans and burn onto them easily. We recommend a small amount of oil or butter for most cooking with ceramic coating. For something like poached eggs, you may need to adjust the temperature or use a slotted spoon.

Can you cook fried chicken in it with the cooking oil half way up to the pieces??
That would be a really bad idea. Get a larger, deeper pan if you must do it this way. Perhaps one with vertical sides, but deep frying should be done in a deep fryer or at least a deep heavy saucepan to prevent burns from the splatter

Is it OK to use this pan with gas stove top? Does the bottom get black and yucky?
You can absolutely use this pan with a gas burner (as well as induction, electric, and glass). The bottom will not discolor with normal use.
