Description
Bring the heat and sauté with ease with ZWILLING Forge Carbon Steel Fry Pans. Forged from a single piece of carbon steel and featuring an innovative and hardworking crosshatch pattern, the Italian-made Forge Carbon Steel Fry Pans are versatile, durable and your new high-heat multitasker, designed for the kitchen—and the campfire.
Lighter than cast iron, carbon steel can withstand higher temperatures than stainless steel, and will develop superior nonstick properties thanks to its rich patina.
The innovative crosshatch pattern along the interior brings richness to each meal, so you’ll enjoy elevated flavors with every use. The oils that are released during cooking infuse into the crosshatches and are redistributed into your food, intensifying flavors and aromas. As the seasoning deepens, frying eggs and cooking delicate pieces of fish become effortless while minimizing the need for additional butter and oil.
Made for the fearless home chef, ZWILLING Forge blends indoor and outdoor cooking so you can enjoy cooking wherever your heart takes you. Effortlessly transition from cozy campfire meals under the open skies to oven and stovetop dishes indoors on busy weeknights. With proper care, these pans are made to last a lifetime.
Hot Tip:
The skillets feature a coating of oil to prepare them for seasoning and prevent rust. To ensure longevity of your carbon-steel pans, simply wipe clean after each use and re-season with a light coating of oil.

Sturdy sexy and slipperyThis pan is ridiculously sexy. Made in Italy (like most of my fave things) and after several seasonings it is slippy letting eggs slide all over it. It's also just gorgeous. Very easy to clean

Perfect Pan - better than stainless or cast ironThis pan is beautiful and versatile. I seasoned it with avocado oil and it cooks buttered eggs with ease and without stick. I wash it with hot water and a straw brush. The long handle does not get very hot at medium temperatures on the stove. I much prefer this to my old stainless steel pan, and I like how light it is compared to cast iron.

A personal favoriteI love this carbon still pan. It’s my favorite for searing steaks. With a little care , it will become your go to in the kitchen and is lighter in weight than heavier stainless steels. The more you use it the more beautiful it becomes. Perfect for outdoor cooking.

You Need at Least One of These. This pan is an important addition to my kitchen. It heats up fast and the handle stays relativity cool, unless it goes into the oven. I have roasted potatoes, cooked onions and cooked a great steak just yesterday. It is a great addition to an induction cooktop. Cleans up well with hot water and a chain mail scrubber.

Durable solution for outdoor grilling.I just love my new skillet. I purchased it to use on my Traeger grill and it is very useful. I can sauté veggies while using the smoker. The larger size allows me to prepare enough for 4-6 people.

No place to leave a review or link to giftThe product seems very good. I made a separate purchase of a Zwilling chef knife. And was awarded a gift of a $15 value. In my latest purchase a card also states to give my review I will receive a gift of a $15 value. During my registration of this product it said when completed there would be instructions to follow to share my experience. There was no such place to do so. I had to call in and inquire about that as well as how to get my free gift.
What’s the best way to season it first time?
Asked by: VladVed
Thank you for your question! Seasoning your ZWILLING Forge 9.5-inch Carbon Steel Frying Pan before first use is a great way to build a natural nonstick surface and protect it from rust. Start by washing the pan with warm water and a small amount of mild soap then rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Next, apply a thin, even layer of a high-smoke point oil like grapeseed, flaxseed, or vegetable oil over the entire interior surface. Heat the pan on medium heat on the stovetop or place it in an oven at 400°F (200°C) for about an hour. This process polymerizes the oil and begins building the seasoning layer. Once cooled, wipe off any excess oil and repeat the process two to three times to strengthen the seasoning. With regular use and proper care, the seasoning will continue to improve. It’s best to avoid acidic foods during the first few uses and always dry the pan thoroughly after cleaning. When I received the 9.5 skillet I ordered, I noticed on the box it stated that the item contained PTFE and PFAS. I use carbon steel to avoid these chemicals. Are they in the Zwilling Forge 9.5-inch carbon steel, frying pan I received.
Asked by: Helu
Hi, thank you for your question! The Zwilling Forge 9.5-inch Carbon Steel Frying Pan does not contain PTFE or PFAS. Carbon steel cookware is designed to be a natural, non-coated option that develops a seasoned surface over time, similar to cast iron. What are the handles made of? I seasoned my pans and coated the handles as well but it didn't take the same way. The surface is a bit rougher too, should I clean off what did stick to the handles and just continue to season the cooking portion only?
