Description
This 8-inch serrated bread knife will cut through bread, tomatoes, or anything else that’s tough on the outside but soft on the inside. Effortlessly slice through a crusty loaf of sourdough and make neat cubes of ciabatta with this long, serrated blade.
ZWILLING Pro boasts a unique curved bolster that acts as an extension of the hand, supporting the professional pinch grip, with thumb and index finger on the blade, for safe cutting and less fatigue. The blade was designed with a broad curve in the front to facilitate the rocking motion of Western cutting, while the straight back is ideal for the chopping motion Japanese knives were designed for. The full length of the blade can be used when cutting and can be sharpened from bolster to tip.

Cleanly slices through any crust - hard or softThe slicing action of this bread knife is questionably good. The serrated teeth catch and cut right through the crustiest sourdough or glides thorugh the tenderest crumb of a sponge cake.
And the quality of this knife is terrific, it is part of the Pro line, one of Zwilling's best. The steel will hold up for a lifetime and the knife requires no maintenance. It features an angled bolster, a new design that matches the grip of professional chef's. It keeps the thumb and forefinger in the correct position for maximum control.
My personal preference is at 9 inches for a bread knife, otherwise this knife would have 5 stars.

Great KnifeBought this knife for slicing bread, rolls, muffins, and cakes. It is too short for flattening cake layers in one cut which is the reason for the 4 stars. I will be purchasing a 10" bread knife in the near future. It has proven to be very useful for slicing meat, for example thin slices of chicken breast meat. It is very sharp and very well balanced. I am not an enthusiastic fan of serrated knives because of the inconvenience of maintaining the edge, I don't like seeing any shiny, rolled over spots on a knife edge. So far I have been able to use a steel to straighten the shiny points.

Substandard QualityThis was to be a gift and the start of quality repertoire of knives; however, the Pro 8-inch Bread Knife was of inferior quality upon arrival. I attempted to contact Customer Service 10 days before Christmas to see how to handle the situation and was assigned a case number automatically. While waiting for a reply I went ahead and gifted the knife in hand. Now it is 01/06 and I have already made a second attempt to contact Customer Service. The knife arrived with small chips toward the serrations at the tip. Several other serrations are rough, irregular and asymmetrical. The knife was poorly finished and somehow passed an inspection after manufacturing. It is not a first quality knife. This was my first Zwilling purchase, and I am not sure if I am more disappointed with the product or the customer service.

Great SizeThis 8" bread knife is a great size because it is big enough to tackle most jobs yet small enough for you to feel fully in control. The incredible part of this razor sharp bread knife is the unique serration pattern that allows the longer serrations to puncture the crust first and continue through without squishing the soft center. The curved bolster provides a comfortable spot for your thumb and forefinger and like all Pro series knives this is perfectly weighted.

Ultimate Bread KnifeWe’ve been making a ton of sour dough bread in quarantine and have really wanted to upgrade our bread knife. We received this Zwilling 8 inch bread knife as a wedding gift and love it! It has the perfect weight which helps you cut the bread in even slices. Especially with sour dough which has a pretty tough crust, this knife makes it so easy. Would highly recommend.
