Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 1st kids knife! My son has been helping me in the kitchen since he was born & at 4 he's finally ready for a "real" knife to chop and be a deal sous chef! Love the details on this with the finger holders on the sheath and using the sheath to help cut. Knife is sharp enough to cut fruit, have tried hard veggies yet but I have high expectations this will be a greatfirst knife for my son!

Full bolster protects his fingers, as does the cleverly designed finger guard. Adorable packaging also comes with a little cookbook!! Incredible gift for $20!

Now when I say that it is lunchtime, he gets his stepstool and waits for his sandwich fixings and his knife. He is so proud that he can use a "real knife"! This is a fantastic product for introducing a child to food prep and cooking!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Kid’s Knife Great product for kids. It allows them to be safe with the guard. It also teaches kids that if you have a good quality knife, it should not require excessive force to cut through something. This will teach the kids to allow the knife to do the “work.”

However, since it is also a sheath for the knife, it has a width that is not ideal for those little hands to feel where to actually cut. If the guard was just as thin as one side of the sheath, it would be a fantastic product. The knife is of excellent quality and comes very sharp (but not too sharp) for it to be used right out of the box.
