Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outstanding knife I bought this knife two years ago and have yet to need to sharpen it. I am not a professional chef but I do enjoy cooking, so this knife have seen its fair share of action. I love the weight and the grip and of course that German steel and workmanship. The only thing I dislike about this knife is that the knife's thickness makes it clumsy to do delicate work like slicing horizontally. Traditional Chinese chef's knives tapers off from much higher on the body, giving it a lower edge angle. Having said that, the combination of good steel and additional thickness at the edge makes it much (MUCH) more resilient than my Japanese knife. If you are looking for a workhorse of a knife, you have just found it.
