Description

ZWILLING Pro is the most user-friendly knife available to market. The unique blade shape and ergonomic bolster are the result of 280 years of experience in knife making, and the rigorous study of how knives are used. A unique curved bolster supports the professional pinch grip, with thumb and index finger on the blade, for safe cutting and less fatigue. The blade was redesigned with a broader curve in the front to facilitate the rocking motion of Western cutting, while the straight back is ideal for the Asian chopping motion. The full length of the blade can be used when cutting and can be sharpened from bolster to tip Designed in Italy by Matteo Thun and made in Germany by ZWILLING J.A. ZWILLING Pro 6.5-inch Nakiri Knife is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 125.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Chopper The Nakiri is an Asian style blade designed to chop like a cleaver but with much less weight. Although it's perfectly designed for the chopping cutting motion, it is easy to rock as well. Extremely versatile; a favorite of my sons who love to cook. Pro knives showcase the best innovation in kitchen knives, the curved bolster. The curved bolster allows you to grip the knife correctly with little thought. This pinch grip helps eliminate fatigue in your hand when cutting for long periods of time. They are forged from high carbon German steel in Germany. They will be extremely sharp, stay sharp, will be comfortable and durable. Guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Rockwell hardness knife but... Great Rockwell hardness knife but the strange cut of the tang didn't let it fit the block of guy pro S knives. The end of the handle wasn't smooth with the metal tang and plastic like the pro S ones are. The metal protruded and its sharp so it catches you hand. Contacting Zwilling. Else the knife is great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gotta love this chopping knife! This is a perfect marriage of the quality and design. A nakiri should be sturdy, stable and the Pro line steel is just that. This high quality, German, stainless steel blade will hold up for a lifetime. And requires little maintenance, just weekly honing (see the 2-stage sharpeners if you are timid about honing) and at most, an annual sharpening. It has an angled bolster, a new design features that matches the grip of professional chef's. It keeps the thumb and forefinger in the correct position for maximum control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow I really love this knife! Originally purchased as a vegetable knife but I've come to rely on it for just about everything. I find I don't use the tip of the chef's knife that often, and appreciate the way the Nakari can also be used to scoop and transport foods. Nice weight and well balanced, the Pro also boasts a curved bolster and curved blade, which adds comfort, as well as outstanding performance. The knife's versatility is a welcomed surprise, and I really enjoy using it daily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great combo blade I have wanted a Nakiri knife but I do not like the typical D shaped handle you find on them. I was already a fan of the Zwilling Pro line and was very excited when they added a Nakiri option. The German forged blade is super strong and easy to maintain like all Pro blades. The acute angle of the blade gives nice thin straight slices and chops. I love that it still has the curved bolster like the rest of the line for optimal comfort and encouragement of the proper holding of the knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best knife for chopping vegetables I love using this knife to cut up vegetables because the wide blade makes it easy to chop and move food from the cutting board to the pan easily and with one trip. The handle is very comfortable to use and the metal is curved where the handles meets the blade so that I can grip the knife well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks Like A Cleaver, Not!!! This Pro 6.5" nakiri have the same feature of a vegetable cleaver knife. Nakiri is about the size of a 7" Pro vegetable cleaver though slightly narrower blad, its purpose is the same. Both knife has curved bolster encourages cutting with improved precision, safety and comfort. Upon cutting food, blade is useful in scooping from the cutting board. Great for cutting meat, vegetables, fruits and even bread and cake. This knife is forged from a single piece of Special Formula High-Carbon NO STAIN stainless steel, durable, Ice-hardened FRIODUR blade and resilient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nakiri knives are like narrow vegetable cleavers. The Pro line of knives are made from premium German steel, ice-hardened for longer edge retention and corrosion resistance. The curved bolster really sets these knives apart from the competition. It makes the knife feel very comfortable in the hand when using the proper pinch grip and reduces wrist fatigue. Add all these attributes into a Japanese style knife and you have the perfect combination.

Just received this beautiful knife. On my zwilling 4 stage knife sharpener, should I use the Asian side to hone/sharpen this knife (10 degrees)? Or the standard side (15 degrees)? Thank you.
