Description
This finely crafted nakiri knife mimics a Japanese cleaver shape and features a wide, ultra-sharp blade that’s ideal for prepping everything from veggies to meat to fish. It’s a sturdy knife created for just about everything in the kitchen, but most especially for chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables.
ZWILLING Pro boasts a unique curved bolster that acts as an extension of the hand, supporting the professional pinch grip, with thumb and index finger on the blade, for safe cutting and less fatigue. The blade was designed with a broad curve in the front to facilitate the rocking motion of Western cutting, while the straight back is ideal for the chopping motion Japanese knives were designed for. The full length of the blade can be used when cutting and can be sharpened from bolster to tip.

Great ChopperThe Nakiri is an Asian style blade designed to chop like a cleaver but with much less weight. Although it's perfectly designed for the chopping cutting motion, it is easy to rock as well. Extremely versatile; a favorite of my sons who love to cook.
Pro knives showcase the best innovation in kitchen knives, the curved bolster. The curved bolster allows you to grip the knife correctly with little thought. This pinch grip helps eliminate fatigue in your hand when cutting for long periods of time. They are forged from high carbon German steel in Germany. They will be extremely sharp, stay sharp, will be comfortable and durable. Guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Created accordiansHello. This knife came to me today and I love the simple design and compact style. This will create quick work out of any large task chopping Veggies. The edge was so sharp I could make paper thin slices of carrots. However upon further inspection of my new tool I found there to be a fault in the shaping of the knife where it has a rather long gap that leave herbs and scallions attached. Creating what my boss calls, accordians.

Great Rockwell hardness knife but...Great Rockwell hardness knife but the strange cut of the tang didn't let it fit the block of guy pro S knives. The end of the handle wasn't smooth with the metal tang and plastic like the pro S ones are. The metal protruded and its sharp so it catches you hand. Contacting Zwilling. Else the knife is great!

Undecided at first, but love the Nakiri KnifeI was very undecided when I first saw this knife. But kept coming back to look again and again. I wasn't sure what I'd use it for as I have a number of great knifes that I use to chop vegetables. When I finally decided to go for it I found it to be on back order. So I requested a notice when the knife came back into stock. It was well worth the wait. I use it now most every day to prepare salads, chop vegetables, and cut paper thin veggies for soups, sautés and just about any other need I may have for chopping. I really like how it handles carrots. This is not a cleaver but does great for thinly slicing meats for Chinese dishes. It is a bit longer than I had imagined, so visually it took some getting used to. It is sturdy and super sharp too. I am very pleased with this purchase, and recommend this to all my friends that enjoy cooking.

I am educated. As an avid knife collector, I was always told that I could never be satisfied with the performance of a commercial grade kitchen knife. The steel used in the production product would always be substandard. As I am used to M4 and S90V the "stainless steel" that was used in otc kitchen knives was never going to make me happy.
Well..................I stand educated1!!
The edge has lasted me a good while. It is similar to my VG 10 blades. It is softer that many of my sporting blades, but I am not planning to use it for bush crafting. Within its intended purpose it is fine. Simply use a strop every other time to keep it great. The ergonomics of the knife are perfect for me. I love the balance especially.

Great Knife!I purchased this without my gf’s approval, and once it arrived, she was very UN-happy because “we didn’t need another knife”. But once we started using it, she was unhappy no more! We both love this knife! The look, the feel, how sharp it was right out the box. I’ve been using the past 2 days and o love it. I haven’t had to sharpen it yet, so I don’t know how that process will be, but as of right now, it is one of the best purchases I have made in a very long time!

So pleased with Nakiri ProLove the shape of the blade and the feel of this knife in my hand. It is fantastic for cutting and chopping vegetables, much better than my conventional shaped knives. The blade is thick all the way across the top and this gives great strength when cutting through thicker vegetables like squash. I do slightly miss more pointed knife tips that can get into narrower spaces, like broccoli florettes, but this knife is a wonderful addition to my kitchen and will be my go to knife from now on. Exceptional quality goes without saying.

Gotta love this chopping knife! This is a perfect marriage of the quality and design. A nakiri should be sturdy, stable and the Pro line steel is just that. This high quality, German, stainless steel blade will hold up for a lifetime. And requires little maintenance, just weekly honing (see the 2-stage sharpeners if you are timid about honing) and at most, an annual sharpening.
It has an angled bolster, a new design features that matches the grip of professional chef's. It keeps the thumb and forefinger in the correct position for maximum control.
I have the 16 piece knife block. Will this Nakiri Knife fit in one of the empty slots?

Just received this beautiful knife. On my zwilling 4 stage knife sharpener, should I use the Asian side to hone/sharpen this knife (10 degrees)? Or the standard side (15 degrees)? Thank you.
