Reviews & Questions
ZWILLING Gourmet 7-pcs_7-pc 7-pc, Knife block set, natural nature is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 1943.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Set of knives The knives are awesome and very sharp! Two cuts already! I had read other reviews on my 14 piece gourmet set and they said the block and scissors where made in China so I was expecting that. But no where in anything I read about the product and even the box it came in did it have disclosed that the steak knives would be stamped made in Spain. I was trying to get all my knives stamped made in Germany. When I called the company they only said they would bring to the attention of his supervisor. Also he told me I would have to buy the professional set for everything to be stamped in Germany. That is the reason I gave a four star, but overall I love them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good knife set We'd ordered this knife set on 08/23/20 and it arrived on 09/09/20, we considered it fast during the COVID 19 pandemic environment. The knifes are sharp, light-weighted and handles are easy to hold. I've been using American knifes from Calphalon and Martha Stuart for years and I think Zwilling Gourmet knifes are pretty sharp, light in weight and am amazed that they cut through fruit seeds neatly. Two things to be noted: All knifes are stamped with 'Made in Germany' except for the scissors; There is one empty block slot after you put all the knifes, sharpener and scissors into the block slots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zwilling 14 piece The knives cut like butter and are super sharp. Need to use with caution of course. The block is general which leave room for different types of knives to buy. I wish the block was a dark stained color and not too bamboo looking, but it does it’s job. There is a free space in the block for something like a Santoku knife or the like if you want to add to it. One issue we have though, our chef knife came with a slight bend at the very tip which is super dangerous when cleaning, because it snags. It also has scratches on the blade. We will have to try and get this worked out with customer service because the chef’s knife is the highlight of any knife set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3 out of 10 pieces are made in China, not Germany! The knives and block look great. Disappointed that the first item I saw when opening the package, the sheers, was made in China. The box says made in Germany on it a total of nine times. Three times each on the front and back sides, twice on the one side send one time on the other side. These were listed as made in Germany on the website where I purchased these with zero mention of 30 prevent being made in China. The seven knives are made in Germany, however the sheers, block and sharpening steel are all made in China.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Block issues (my opinion), but GREAT knives! These knives are amazingly sharp and present well in the block. Unfortunately, the block is the issue. First of all, the 4 slots for the paring and utility knives are far too wide causing too much "floating". Also, the slot for the scissors is too low which causes the scissor handle to hang directly on top of the two paring knives. Since those handles are so small, the scissors just get in the way. I will say, however, that I do like the 'extra' knife-slot for a future Santoku blade. Aside from those issues with the block...NOT the knives...this set is all I've ever wanted in a set of high-end knives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It cut like butter!!! I have not used each knife yet. I tested the 4” paring knife on a lemon that I had used to squeeze juice from - 4 days ago, so it was very soft from being in the fridge. My old knife wouldn’t city through without me piercing the peel, but THIS KNIFE?! It cut through like butter!!! I barely touched my finger to the sharpened edge and could feel that the first layer of skin was sliced a bit (thanks to the lemon juice). These knives are sharp and I’ll be a loyal customer for gifts and upgrades in the future. Love the products. I’ve purchased two sets as gifts in the past, now I’m treating myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality knives Firstly, I appreciate the company’s history and the integrity behind their products. Regarding this set, I like that the knives are sturdy yet lightweight. I also like the range of knives that are included in this particular set. However I should preface this all by saying that I haven’t had the set for very long and that we purchased it on sale which holds it to a slightly different standard. That said, these knives are a pleasure to use - so much so that I found myself cutting tomatoes for no other reason than to use the knives. And ultimately I feel they’re a good investment - a good knife is a safe knife and with this set I no longer hold my breath watching my husband cut bagels :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Blades and Affordable Price! I have been eyeing a new set of knives upon moving into my new home. I was sick and tired of using the run of the mill knives you can buy at your local department store for a few bucks. The fact that Bed Bath Beyond carried these on their website with direct shipment from the manufacturer was amazing! Their coupons made this knife set ultra affordable and best of all, all the knives are actually made from Germany. They may not be the more expensive forged blades, but I'm not a professional chef, so these are more than enough for me! They are extremely sharp right out the box. They cut through vegetables and meat with no resistance.

What’s the difference between proand your gourmet series?

Asked by: Buttes
Thank you for your question! The ZWILLING Pro and ZWILLING Gourmet knives both offer high-quality performance, but they differ in design and construction. The Pro series knives are forged from a single piece of high-carbon stainless steel, feature a curved half bolster for a comfortable pinch grip, and have a full tang for superior balance and strength—making them ideal for professionals or serious home cooks. In contrast, the Gourmet series is stamped rather than forged, making the knives lighter and more affordable. Gourmet knives do not have a bolster, but still feature a full tang and a traditional three-rivet handle. Both series are made in Germany and deliver exceptional quality; the choice comes down to whether you prefer the premium feel and weight of a forged knife like the Pro, or the lighter, more flexible option offered by the Gourmet line. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our customer service team at hello@zwillingus.com.

what is the quality difference between this line and the pro

Asked by: dman
Both the Gourmet and Pro lines are made of our special formula high carbon steel with black thermoplastic riveted handles. The primary difference between the two lines is that the Gourmet line is stamped while the Pro line is forged. Stamped knives are lighter, more flexible, and allow for maximum maneuverability, while forged knives are heavier and a bit more durable.
