If you want a special knife for those special carving occasions like your holiday roasts definitely consider investing in this beautiful knife. Designed by Bob Kramer the master knife smith you're hard pressed to find a nicer more beautiful knife. The core is made from FC61 steel which is one of the hardest steels available and then wrapped in an additional one hundred layers of stainless and nickel to create the unique damascus pattern. You will achieve the most effortless thin slices of roast with this knife not to mention using it for fajita meat slicing, cutting ribs or even special occasion cakes.

Comfort and Durability!Meiji collection knife has wide blade, even a slicing knife. It is outstanding for large size food cutting and slicing for meat, vegetables and fruits. I liked this 9" slicing knife wide blade, because it is less effort for me to go in and out cutting and slicing when prepping food and when serving a sumptuous dinner roast meat. Meiji knife potent core of FC61 fine carbide stainless steel is protected by 100 layers of nickel and stainless steel. Blades offer remarkable durability, sharpness, and cutting performance. The ergonomic charcoal Pakkawood handles is more comfortable for left handed cook. Damascus pattern on the knife blade provides added durability, helps prevent food from sticking.

Replacement knives better than expectedI just unpacked a box of Kramer knives. I had sent knives in to be sharpened and the post office lost my parcel. Shout out to Knife Aid who replaced my beloved Japanese knives with a selection of Bob Kramer Meiji cutlery. The quality is readily apparent. The weight and balance are excellent and the sharpness right out of the box is exactly what I expected. I loved the knives that were lost but these are very very impressive. I look forward to making many meals with these and eventually passing them on to my sons.

A stunning knife made as in collaboration with Zwilling and Bob Kramer - master bladesmith! Never disappoints with his quality or craftsmanship in knives, this 9" Meiji slicer is no exception. Made with 101 layer Damascus steel, thin blade, with the Friodurx2 process that keeps blades sharp, durable and corrosion and chip free. I love the pins he designs for the center of the handle - adds a beautiful touch that other knives simply do not have. The handle is smooth and comfortable - so gives a good grip while slicing!

Beauty and BrawnThe Meiji line is as tough as it is beautiful. Made of 101 layers of steel, and ice hardened in the process, this tough knife will work hundreds of menus before it needs to be sharpened. It also makes it possible to sharpen this knife to an optimal slicing angle so it glides right through cooked meats and raw fish.
The bright stainless, patterned blade signifies its Damascus-style layering. The handle is a little longer than traditional handles. Great for larger hands or folks who don't use a pinch grip.

Amazing Kramer DesignThis knife has a unique handle construction, enlarged slightly which gives the ridge more of a pronounced peak for better grip. Bob Kramer makes the signature handle pin at his shop in Washington, it represents peace and culture, and ships them to Japan. Such an amazing personal connnection.
The blade is thin and razor sharp, perfect for thin slices of turkey or roast. It's made from FC61 which is extremely chip resistant and wrapped in 100 layers that makes it stunningly beautiful.

If you’re gathering with family on holidays throughout the year and creating a king size buffet with a great roast, turkey, or ham as your center piece; then this is the knife you want! Not only will you be using it, but your left-handed family member will be able to use it with the same comfort and ease... not to mention, as beautiful as it is, it’ll be a great conversation piece all around. The layered Damascus, and beautifully carved wooden handle is incredible.

zwilling employeeThe Meiji line of Bob Kramer knives is an asian inspired look on a western knife. The edge angle and the steel are in keeping with a typical western style Kramer production knife. The detailed and asian inspired handle with angles and smoothed corners gives the feel of a traditional eastern D shaped handle. An unexpected and stunning look to this collection.
