The Miyabi Kaizen paring knives are both elegant to use and beautiful to look at. The slim D-shaped handle tucks into the fingers confidently. The blade is both hard and light at the same time, making it glide through delicate fruits and hearty peels effortlessly. That's because the 64 layers of molten steel applied over the VG10 steel core hold a tight edge. Less work for more precise cuts.
Adding to the enjoyment of this phenomenal cutting tool is its beauty. The Damascus-style polishing showing the layers and, the linen Micarta handle with finishing details combine to make using and owning this knife a joy. Hone regularly. Hand wash. This knife will be sharp and beautiful for a lifetime.

A paring knife is an essential tool in the kitchen, and I researched a long time, and tried many different blades before I purchased this knife. Love the way it feels in my hand, easy to hold and really feels like an extension of my hand. Fits like a glove.
The blade stays nice and sharp, and is easy to maintain. So far all I've had to do is hone the blade, and it is as sharp as the day I brought it home. Looking forward to purchasing additional knives from this line!

Great ParerA paring knife is as essential as your chef knife. It handles all of those small tasks like peeling apples or potatoes, removing blemishes from fruit, or if you're really good, making beautiful creations from fruits and veggies. All of these require a very sharp knife which is exactly what you get when you're buying Miyabi. They are authentic, from the small Asian edge to the rounded wooden handle. Incredible hardness for edge retention and beautiful Damascus design.

beautiful paring knifeI love the attention to detail on this lovely paring knife. From the smooth transition between blade and handle to the beautiful damascus layers protecting the razor sharp cutting steel this knife is IT! As a perfect shaped parer knife it will get plenty of use in my kitchen. Meant to last a lifetime, the cutting edge certainly stays sharp and smooth unlike other Japanese brands that seem to nick a lot.

Sharp and ComfortableThe Miyabi Kaizan paring knife is a sharp, comfortable little knife that is easy to grab and us for all your cutting jobs. I always marvel at how easily this knife cuts through everything from apples and pears to carrots and radishes. The VG10 super steel holds the sharp katana edge longer than traditional steel and the Japanese D shaped handle is comfortable in the palm of your hand.

Great Japanese paring knifeThis is a really great Japanese Paring knife. The Kaizen has a beautiful blade and the Micarta wood handle feels really smooth in hand, and has a nice roundedness to it. With the blade having 64 layers of steel, you can really feel how much of a difference that makes when peeling fruits and veggies. A great paring knife to have in the kitchen.

Another amazing knife from the Miyabi Kaizen collection. This parer does about any small job - paring in hand, coring, slicing apples, pears and other fruit and perfect for ginger and garlic. With the Damascus layers and flower pattern, besides being functional, it is also beautiful. Handle looks like wood, but is actually black linen Micarta!

Best knife ever!This, and the Myabi chef knife are my go-to knifes. They are fantastic! It cuts like a dream and is very easy to handle- perfect size. Besides a bread knife, I don't need any other knives. I love these Myabi knives so much, I bought them when I moved out of a shared housing arrangement where my housemates had them.
