Rated 5 out of 5 by from After using my Birchwood Chef all the time, I decided that i wanted another knife in the collection. went back and forth between the Santoku and the Nakiri for days, I am so happy with this choice, nothing wrong with the santoku ( will probably get that next) but the Nakiri cuts so beautifully! the balance and the feel of the handle have made this my new favorite knife. It looks so impressive and I'm amazed that they were able to keep such a sharp, lightweight, knife and maintain the 101 layer Damascus. You need this knife now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An amazing knife The Miyabi Birchwood collection is one of my favorites, and I absolutely love using the Nakiri. I had never used this blade style before, but when I handled and chopped with this knife for the first time, it was amazing. It cuts so effortlessly due to the fact that it's constructed with 100 layers of SG2 steel. The handle is smooth and feels great to hold as you chop through produce. It’s a great, sharp, beautiful Japanese knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the WOW factor 101 layers of sheer bliss! This has been a great alternative to my Santoku, although I still use both. Using it mostly for veggies, it is one of the more beautiful knives I have seen or used! The birch handle is both attractive and a comfort. It also cuts through the hardest outer layers like melons and will not disappoint! Well worth the price to own this "wow" knife!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Miyabi Birchwood line is one of the most beautiful lines Zwilling makes. The blade is made from SG2 steel, one of the highest quality in the market place. There is an additional 100 layers protecting the core. This knife is one of the sharpest I have ever used. I love the shape of this nikiri blade, it is more rounded then most nikiri's so easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Authentic design I am a big fan of Japanese cuisine and was looking for a great nakiri. I love this Birchwood line. The steel is super sharp and stays sharp. The layering of the blade gives it a very attractive look. I love the birchwood handle.....it is a unique piece and the handle actually becomes more attractive with use as it ages. A great product overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite blade shape in superb steel This knife brings me joy. It is beautifully hand crafted and made of the one of the best steels for cutlery. The smooth birchwood handle with inset moniker are an elegant touch. But the part I really love is the nakiri shaped blade. I just sliced raw chicken with it. In an hour it will chop all my vegetables. I can use it for everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful craftsmanship This knife has definitely been crafted well. We a 63 rockwell hardness I don't have to worry about the steel not being hard enough. The handle is amazing, the birch wood makes it super soft but hard at the same time. It fits so well in my hand! Between the quality and craftsmanship, I would highly recommend the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate Chopper The Nakiri is my sons' new favorite knife. It is the ultimate chopper but can rock too. The SG2 steel makes this the sharpest of knives. And the birchwood handle feels perfect in your hand, providing a "non slip" finish. I love how this handle darkens from the oil in my hands; it makes it uniquely mine.
