Miyabi Artisan 9-inch Bread Knife is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from gorgeous bread knife I purchased a Miyabi Artisan chefs knife a while back and wanted to add the serrated knife. I love my chefs knife for most things but wanted the serrated one for more specific jobs. Of course I use it for bread but it has so many other uses. Its great for tomatoes, melons, citrus or anything with a harder/thicker exterior and a soft interior. It also works great for peeling butternut squash. The pakka wood handle is very comfortable especially with the belly added to the D shaped design. The blade is gorgeous with the hammered and sand blasted design. The forged steel is very hard and sharp and stays that way for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fantastic Japanese bread knife This knife is awesome. I love the look of this knife and how it has certain features that make it a true Japanese knife, like the mirrored finish aspect to the blade and the shape of the handle. I like that it’s a Cocobolo wood, really beautiful look that accents the blade perfectly. This knife slices through anything with ease and smoothness, clean slices every time whether it’s bread or fruit. It has a nice balance to it as well, and the D-shape handle contours nicely in your hand. The steel is really solid for a Japanese knife, so I’m not worried about it chipping down the road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You can almost see the craftsmen working on these knives. The hammered steel and the shaped Cocobolo Pakkawood handle are carefully made and assembled by real people in Seki, Japan one of a handful cities in the world renown for their knife making skills. This bread knife has all that quality and tradition built into in. AND, it slices the tenderest crumb or the crustiest crust so smoothly. The sharp scalloped serrated edge grips and slices right through without tearing. What more can you ask of a bread knife?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This bread knife will get through anything that has a hard exterior and soft interior. Yes, perfect for bread but excellent fog getting through a big melon or cabbage. The knife core is made from SG2 steel and surrounded by layers of nickel and stainless steel for additional protection. The handle is ever so comfortable with its D-shaped Cocobolo pakkawood handle. The hammered “Tsuchime” finish helps move food away from the blade while chopping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful bread knife This is a great bread knife! It not only slices through a crusty loaf of fresh bread without smashing or tearing, but it is incredibly beautiful. The hammered finish is so unique and the wooden handle with its simple curve fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. It is made from a very hard steel so it will stay sharp longer and is very durable. It slices so cleanly that it could also be used to carve meat or slice through a large watermelon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As a baker I really appreciate a fine bread knife. They are not only used for cutting into a beautiful loaf of artisan bread but I also use mine to halve cake rounds for multi layered cakes. Then they are perfect for cutting and serving the cake. The hand hammering on this blade is really stunning and makes food fall off the blade easily. The serration doesn't leave behind much crumb and bites into crusts easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning bread knife, featuring a hand hammered blade, coupled with a pakkawood handle. This looks nothing like the bread knife I grew up with! Made in Japan, the blade is made with the finest SG2 steel, which is why it glides through even the hardest, crustiest loaves. Also love how it slices melons, pineapples, tomatoes, and onions. Serrated edge, never needs sharpening, makes it as useful as it is reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bread knife and the slightly smaller 9 inch length makes it handy for other tasks too such as citrus fruits and tomatoes. The serrated edge on this knife has nice long teeth that pierce the crust first and allow you to cut through without squishing the soft middle. It has a beautifu pakkawood handle and is made from SG2 steel which is strong and hard so you can be confident it will not chip or crack.
