I have to admit that mine wore and I was happy to be able to replace just the leather and not the whole block. Stroping is such a great way to add the final polish to a newly sharpened knife edge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Replacement The leather stropping block is the perfect way to finish knife sharpening. It puts on a fine polish that makes the blade incredibly sharp. Unfortunately, if done incorrectly, you can cut into the leather. This is the "fix" if that happens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Sharp Remember the old barber shops that would sharpen their straight edge blade for shaving on a leather strap? This is the same concept. By finishing your sharpening on a leather strap the blade will end up razor sharp.
