Just what I needed...
Just what I needed to store all my knives in one place. I was a little hesitant about the steak knife slots being too cramped but fit 8 Henckels Statement knives perfectly. They have some hefty handles so should fit most steak knives. I've read other reviews stating the regular slots are cramped as well but fit my Zwilling Four Star collection along with 2 Henckels Classic Santoku knives without issue. Would recommend to anyone on the fence.

KNIFE SET GREW - GREAT SOLUTION 20 SLOTS
Recommend to anyone who's outgrown or added to your quality knife collection. Strong, sturdy, solid hardwood knife block with 20 slots. Quality is 10/10; I had to wait one year for this to become available. If you are thinking of getting a larger knife block, now is the time to buy this product or wait another year for it to go on sale again. Protects our extra knives from being thrown in cutlery drawers. Very happy.

room for all my steak knives
I purchased a nice set of knives and then bought extra matching steak knives. I didn't even think about where to keep them safe from damage. After adding a cleaver to my set I know that I needed to get a new storage system to keep them corralled. This block fit the bill, my steak knives sit beautifully in their spots and the cleaver has a home. I even have few open spots for when I pick up another kife or a few!

Fits more than expected
Fits all my Zwilling knives plus some others. I needed a block that would fit my cleaver but was not sure if the smaller blocks offered could. I ended up filling up all the slots except for the kitchen shears.

Big block
Big block Well I just like to say this is a beautiful block I like the darker block but this is all so beautiful I will hold all your nice the only problem is it’s not 20 slots it’s 19 it even says it in the background where it says 19 slots why haven’t you changed it to say that instead of saying it’s 20 and making a mistake selling it to somebody and then returning it because they didn’t look more carefully That’s it, John.

I have an ash knife block. Over the years dust and some air borne cooking oils have collected on the top. I wipe it, but I would prefer a way to clean it properly. How would I do this without ruining the block?
Hi, to maintain your knife block, regularly remove crumbs and debris from the slots. Air in a Can would help clean the slots. For the exterior cleaning, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth a few times and avoid submerging it in water. We hope this helps!

How wide is the cleaver slot on the 20 piece block. Looking for a 4”wide set
I used a long drill bit. 1/8 & 3/16 to make a wider width, longer depth, and increase the slot diameter to fit my knives.

Top left for Steel or Knife: Square is 0.8” X .76” Slot: X 1.3” X0.16”
Largest top slot for a Cleaver: 3.5” X.026”
The next Four Slots two on each side: 2.1” X 0.2” (for 8” & 7” Knives)
The next three slots, two on one side, one the other” 1.54” X 0.17”
Last two 1.07 X 0.2”
The Shears Slot: 1” X 0.7”
Steak Knife Slots: 0.9” X 0.18”

I have vegetable cleaver and a 20 inch chef knife will this knife block work?
Will fit the Cleaver 3 7/16" wide in the Top Slot, and there are Four 2" Slots for an 8" Blade.

Will this fit a 10" chef's knife?
The height of the block is 10.51" at the highest Slot which is meant for a Cleaver. The Blade will be too small for the slot. The height should be right.
