It is best boning knife there isI have the Four Star knife set and I have added other Four Star knives, the carving knife and fork, the Santoku, etc. I love the Zwilling brand, and more specifically the Four Star line. It’s matches functionality, quality and affordability perfectly. The Four Star Boning Knife is the newest addition to my knife set. I can say it without doubt that it is one of the best, if not the best, boning knife in the market. Incomparable quality with incomparable price. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an all-purpose boning knife.

Gets the job doneI work in a fish shop.. we got 4 of these on standby.. I love the blade stifness for filletting.. for deskinning its a bit hard maybe but u get used to it.
I wish the finish on the back of the blade would be a bit smoother so id get a little less wear on the fingers.. other than that its a perfect blade more than adequate for occasionally filleting some fish..

Great multi purpose knifeThis is a knife I didn’t know I needed until I used it. I always thought this was really supposed to be used for just fish or chicken, but you can use this knife for so many other purposes! My friend showed me how to peel fruit with it like oranges and that was a game changer! It cuts so cleanly and with it’s thin profile you can really get a nice slice, whether it’s removing meat from a bone, or skin from fruit or fish, it’s a knife that can be really handy to have in the kitchen when you need it.

love this knife, but it diedWe've been using this knife for nearly 20 years, but it died today - the end snapped off when using it to cut into some frozen meat. Will have to get another or the set will be missing a well used knife.

great results.....cuts down on wasteI am very happy with the results from this boning knife. The sturdy sharp forged German steel blades are strong sharp and flexible. They get right in close to the bone and leaves very little meat behind. It cuts down on waste and puts more value in my pocket from purchasing large cuts of meat. The four star handle is very comfortable and the texture of the material has a good grip that gives me confidence and safety while butchering.

great knife to debone poultryThe flex on this boning knife makes it tieh easiest knife to use for a chicken. It moves so smoothly around the edges and doesn't catch on the surface of the bones, just skims right past and edges or angles on the bone. I always had my butcher do most of the work, as my boning skills were sub par, but with this knife I a have no issue buying a whole roaster and de-boning it myself, in fact it's kinda ZEN! Try it!!

Time testedThe four star line has been throughout the last 40 years!! No wonder its a world wide favorite. This knife is excellent for boning and skinning flesh from meats and fish. It will cut the meat cleanly. the flexibility of this blade aids in that process. the four star line is a quality, durable sharp German steel. the handle is smooth and comfortable.
Excellent knife to have for specific tasks in the kitchen.
I have a Zwilling J.A. Henckles boning knife I bought in Germany in the 1970s. The handle is cracked. Is it possible to get it repaired? It is a Four Star 5.5-inch knife.

How flexible is flexible? I am trying to replace my knife that because I broke the tip off. The knife itself does not bend easily, we use it a great deal. We slice grave lox easily with it.

This blade is made thin and flexible specifically to follow curves when cutting. The knife is not rigid and fixed like other knives to prevent it from loosening in the handle or breaking while boning meat.

I own one of these knives and love it. At a thrift store, I found another one, identical in design, only it is not a knife because there is no cutting edge & the end of it is round. What is this piece to be used for??
