Rated 2 out of 5 by from Interesting idea that doesn't work This came as part of a set. I thought it seemed like an interesting idea: one lid to cover many different size pans. But it doesn't live up to its promise and I would not recommend buying it. Except for a few test runs soon after I got it, I never use it. It is big, almost 13-inches in diameter. Unless it is on a big pan, there is a lot of lid that hangs over the edge of the pan and gets in the way. I find the extra lid annoying on any pan less than 11-inches in diameter. I just don't like it. It is good quality, but heavy. Maybe "semi-universal" lids would work better: a lid that fits pans 10-12 inches, and another lid that fits 8-10 inch pans.

It can be very difficult to find a universal lid for every size, as well as the problem it creates with having to store multiple lids. This lid is perfectly designed with the off set handle to fit on almost any pan. I love that it's stainless steel so it cleans up beautifully, won't break and will last forever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Most fry pans don't come with lids. Occassionally you get lucky and a lid from another pan will fit. This universal lid covers most sizes of fry pans well. It's not perfect on every size but it does provide good coverage and limits the amount of lids that you need to store and keep track of. I really like the size of the handle. It's easy to grasp even with a pot holder.

I just bought a set of Madura Nonstick pans and bought this as well in the thought of having a nice lid to go with my 8 and 10 inch skillets (Skillets, btw, are amazing.) Even though it is the same manufacturer, the lid is not very secure on top of the pans. However, it does the job and the effort of returning did not seem worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile and good quality I had been lacking a lid that fit a lot of my pans but also have very limited space in my kitchen. This lid fits the bill for both issues! The only thing to be aware of is that it is quite heavy (good quality!) so it can be annoying to wash and makes my drying rack topple over a bit (one star deducted for that). Overall, great buy!

I wish the handle was made of a material that doesn’t conduct heat, it’s easy to burn your hand if you forget to use an oven mitt while busy cooking. However, this universal lid truly works extremely well to tightly cover a wide range of my pots and frypans which are missing their original tops.

Before I had this I used to take another pan and put it over my pan or a lid from another pot and try to make it work but it was always a sloppy solution.

This lid become popular at our store, it can fit from 8" up to 12" frying pan, pots and even a stir fry pan. Indention can function as a steam opening and flavor back your food while it's being cooked.
