STAUB Cast Iron 7-qt Oval Cocotte - Visual Imperfections - Black is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Less that happy Was disappointed our item had a large chip on the exterior of the enamel about the size of a nickel all the way down to bare metal. Most of the reviews we had read had said much more minor issues. So I guess we just pulled the short straw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You don't need a pressed cooker anymore Not only its functionarity but the cobalt color is absolutely beautiful. It has several tiny pits on the surface, but it doesn't affect the functionarity. I was using a pressure cooker but I use this more than that now. The only downside is its weight. If you don't have a muscle, it will be very heavy to carry and wash. Other than that, you will love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 7qt Cocotte Perhaps I have bad eyesight, but it seemed in excellent condition. I did not notice any imperfections, and it works perfectly. Cooked a corned beef. Incredible value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful addition to my kitchen... I decided to purchase a cocotte and although I expected to pay full price, I opted for one visual imperfections because of the discount. There is a tiny imperfect spot the size of a pea on the edge of the cocotte that I had to look hard to find. It works beautifully for us and I am so glad I bought it. Believe the reviews!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally got my 7 quart! I have been wanting to make a French chicken in a pot recipe and all my other Staub Dutch ovens were too small. I know they cook like a charm as I have several pieces. The only visible imperfection was a tiny pin spot. I am over the moon happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Simply Great I have a non-enameled cast dutch oven that I've been using for years. There appear to be 2 noticeable differences: The Staub seems to sear meat more consistently and the lid seems to fit tighter. I purchased a Staub with "visual imperfections." Other than the basil color being less vibrant than the pictures (it appears more black than basil in poor light) I don't notice any of the imperfections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Lucky I decided to take a chance in buying a 7 qt. oval Black matte cocotte with visual imperfections. I imagined it would have slight cosmetic imperfections, not easy to see. I pulled the trigger because the price was so good. I would have never bought it at a higher price. Upon arrival, I inspected it and could feel the inside of the handles slightly rough, and could see a dimple the size of a head pin on the inside bottom of the pot and two tinier than that. However, they are not deep and are not chips, only little indentions. Had I read the one star reviews of people getting a big chip or a cracked pot, and no answer from customer service to their emails or phone calls, I would have never taken a chance. I hope Staub improves their customer service and posts what the imperfections are instead of being surprised. Luckily for me, I got a very nice pot, I would say perfect. I have had it for less than a month and cooked a pot roast and chicken soup twice. I brush it with avocado oil and start heating it on the lowest setting until it gets hot, following recommendations. After washing it, if I see a little discoloration from minerals or food film, I pour vinegar and let the pot soak for 20 to 40 min instead of using Bar Keeper's friend I use Arm and Hammer baking soda with a dishcloth or paper towel to scrub the bottom of the pot. And it's like new again. It is 15 pounds, too heavy for me, I wish it was less heavy. I do like cooking with it.

What is the visual imperfection for this particular item?

Asked by: Nick000
Each piece with visual imperfections is slightly different, so it is impossible to say exactly what the imperfection is. These are all products that our factory did not feel could be made available at full price, but all of the imperfections are purely visual. Most of the issues are either chips in enamel that have been enameled over, minor scratches, or uneven finishes. The majority are on the outside of the piece or along the rims. Most of the time, it is actually difficult to spot the issue. There are no major dents or malformed pieces. Each piece is fully functional and covered by our lifetime limited warranty against manufacturing and material defects.

I just purchased this 7 quart cocotte with visual imperfections. It is flawless as far as I can tell and at an amazing price, Does it have any warranty? I'm sure I will never need to make a claim but just wanted to know.

Asked by: VickaTic
Yes, items with visual imperfections carry the same lifetime limited warranty as our full priced products.

Wondering how visible is the imperfection? Is it on the lid? Underneath the pot itself? Handles? Please advise. Thank you.

Asked by: Sunshine60
I agree, I could not find the imperfections either.
