Mini braiser, bakeware, fryer....!
This braiser cast iron is smaller than any other braiser however it's still very useful especially for single served food. It is shallow but wide, so easy to stir, and organized every ingredients in one beautiful presentation. It is great for braising, roasting, frying, stir fry, baking breads and mostly everything. Heavy weight, tight-fitting lid retains moisture creates pressure inside and continually release condensed liquid back onto the food, yielding moist, flavorful results.
Staub cast iron works on all stove top sources including gas, electric, glass, ceramic, induction, and halogen. Oven safe up to 900F. Staub cast iron are Made in France.

Awesome Baking Pan!
I bought this pan about a month ago and it's become an instant favorite. Its heat retention is amazing and the matt black enameling inside the pan browns food perfectly. I own several of the competing brand of enameled cast iron pans and I think Staub is setting a higher standard.

I love using this pan for shallow frying, braising and baking. It's a great size for sticky buns! The innovative black matte interior allows for even heating, browning and great release of food. You will use less fat when cooking! Gorgeous color, tight fitting lid. Stove, to oven to table. great pot!

Great presentation and serving vessel
I love that this small cast iron vessel has a lid because it makes for a great presentation on my table. Also, because it's cast iron, it retains heat really well, so my food stays hot for a long time after it comes out of the oven or off the stove. Another thing about this particular cast iron is that it is enameled, which means that the upkeep that is typically part of cast iron cookware doesn't exist because it is naturally non-stick.

Individual braiser? Awesome!
What a gorgeous way to present individual servings of the most heart warming comfort foods. Excellent for make-ahead dishes. Chicken Cacciatore. Cassoulet. Japanese Kare. Prepare and portion. Pop in the oven for heating and finishing. Roasting vegetables and even rice side dishes do very well in this pan. And for dessert, just pull out a favorite recipe. The heat management properties of cast iron can't be beat.

Great round baker
This is an essential baker to have in any kitchen. This is the perfect round baker for all the desserts, as well as parker rolls, rice dishes, pasta, honestly any side dish. This is a great baker to incorporate cooking with the lid; Staub’s heavy lids help from preventing heat escaping, creating a vessel that will cook thoroughly. This is a great piece to have and the graphite color looks great!

This just barely doesn’t fit into my toaster oven. Do you sell a compatible replacement knob for this pan that’s smaller than the one included?
Hi, Sorry no.

Does matte black have a brass or nickel handle?
The majority have nickel, there are some promo pieces that have the brass.

How can it avoid the food stuck on the bottom of the pot?
Because cast iron not nonstick by nature, you have to use a generous amount of cooking fat to penetrate pores in the cooking surface and/or season your cookware to create a nonstick-like layer over time.

Is this what we call a "Braiser"?
You could braise in this dish, but it is very shallow and not too wide (only about 10"), it would be difficult to fit much meat or liquid. This is more like a gratin dish with a cover. You can braise in any heavy, covered pot. Our Cocottes and French Ovens are perfect for this. We make some pots that we specifically call braisers, these are shallower and wider so you can fit more in, and usually range from about 2.5-qts to 6-qts.
