MIYABI celebrates Japanese craftsmanship with Artisan. Using traditional methods and innovative techniques, these knives merge the past and present into an exceptional knife collection.

The potent core of SG2 micro-carbide powder steel is layered in a Tsuchime finish. This exquisite, hand-hammered effect helps prevent food from sticking. Each knife features a hand-honed blade finished with a true katana edge, a homage to the samurai swords made in Seki centuries ago.

Fabricated with special Cocobolo Rosewood pakkawood, the handles mirror the beauty of the blade. Sophisticated details include brass and red spacers, a mosaic pin and a stainless steel end cap. The attractive D-shaped handle is designed to nestle comfortably in your hand for tireless cutting. Handcrafted in Seki, Japan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Art with a use This knife is an absolutely gorgeous work of art. Unlike most art, this is actually useful! I mainly use this knife for surgically slicing meat, and just like its visual appearance it does an amazing job. It stays really sharp! I just hope I don't scratch the beautiful metal work. The handle is just as beautiful as the blade. I just need to issue 1 warning...these types of knives are extremely addictive. :-)

is the knife easily resharpened

These knives can be resharpened several ways. First, we recommend using a sharpening/honing steel every few times you use the knife. This does not remove any material and safe to do frequently. When the knives do need resharpening, you can use a series of waterstones, though this takes some practice. We do make a Miyabi pull-through sharpener that is designed specifically for these blades, it is perfect for touch ups. If you do not want to sharpen the blade yourself, we offer a sharpening service.

Hello, I purchased my Miyabi 8-inch knife at retail store back in October 2016. Knife shattered at the blade. Retailer only provides a 60 day return/exchange policy. What is the manufacturer warranty and what steps should take to have knife replaced?
