Additional Information

MIYABI celebrates Japanese craftsmanship with Artisan. Using traditional methods and innovative techniques, these knives merge the past and present into an exceptional knife collection.

The potent core of SG2 micro-carbide powder steel is layered in a Tsuchime finish. This exquisite, hand-hammered effect helps prevent food from sticking. Each knife features a hand-honed blade finished with a true katana edge, a homage to the samurai swords made in Seki centuries ago.

Fabricated with special Cocobolo Rosewood pakkawood, the handles mirror the beauty of the blade. Sophisticated details include brass and red spacers, a mosaic pin and a stainless steel end cap. The attractive D-shaped handle is designed to nestle comfortably in your hand for tireless cutting. Handcrafted in Seki, Japan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice design and very sharp Had friends over last night. She found my new Miyabi because she saw how beautiful it was. She was shocked at how sharp it was. Her husband asked, cuts like butter, huh? She said, I have butter that is more difficult to cut than the pepper I just cut with that. I think that about sums it up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great blade for chopping This is a great Santoku knife. It for one is beautiful. The hammered Tsuchime finish really makes such a big difference when chopping produce or starchy foods like potatoes and not sticking to the knife. I like how this is such a sharp blade thanks to the ice hardening aspect. The Cocobolo wood D-Shaped handle fits perfectly in my hand and makes for a comfort experience as I chop and cut produce. The knife is sharp and durable, what more can you want in a Santoku knife!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tip broke off - want a replacemnt I bought the set of these knives at Sur La Table and paid $699.99 thinking I was getting the best with a lifetime warranty. The tip broke off my 7" Santoku and I took it back to Sur La Table and they said I had to contact Miyabi (paid in the rear) but I cannot find any number or website for them to honor the warranty - If someone at Miyabi reads this please email me.

Is it dish washer safe?

Asked by: Auburn Lock
This knife is not dishwasher safe. If washed in a dishwasher you risk ruining the wooden handle and chipping the blade.
