Stamped from a single sheet of high quality stainless steel they are light weight and corrosion resistant. A full tang of steel running through the handle makes them stable and sturdy. I like the way the handle is high on the bolster because it provides a comfortable area for my pinch grip. The Prep Knife blade feels nice and sharp. This is a great size for smaller quantities where you don't need the reach of a longer blade and with a slightly curved tip you can use the rocking motion you are used to using with your larger chef's knife.

Designed to provide the best aspect of a chopping knife and paring knife, this knife works with meats, vegetables, fruits and nuts. There isn't much you can't mince, dice or slice with this knife. Plus this knife is lightweight without compromising blade sharpness. Maintained properly, it will last many years. Extremely good value. The Solution line of knives is a good step up to quality stamped steel cutlery. The knives are made from high quality German steel that will not stain or rust or pit. They are made - from the tip of the blade to the heel of the handle - from a single piece of steel providing terrific stability. It feels good in the hand and does the work efficiently.

A great starter knife for newbies, such as young aspiring chefs, the prep knife is not as daunting in size as a Chef, but you can still use it on a cutting board easily like a Chef. Nice handles on the knife, contours nicely to the German stainless steel blade.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely kitchen helper This Henkel will go in my knife kit and a go to for tasks. As soon as I got it home, I tested it on my garden tomato’s and it did the trick. I love this size bc it feels casual to put a light meal together yet has a beautiful precise blade for its price point. I feel so grateful to have happened upon it bc it’s the one knife I’m using the most in the kitchen right now. THANKS FOR MAKING CRAFTSMANSHIP AFFORDABLE!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go to knife for most tasks I like this knife so much I just bought a second one. When I need a knife, 8/10 times I reach for this one. Sometimes it’s dirty, thats why I bought a spare. At 5.5 inches it’s big enough to tackle a sweet potato but also small enough for finesse stuff like peeling ginger. Great knife. Feels good in my hand, and looks cool too. Has some flair to it, not just a sharp triangle of steel.

I use this almost as much as a chef knife, but generally on medium to small tasks where this blade size is perfect. Lightweight and comfortable for extended time in the kitchen.

It has the same strong three rivet handle design as the knives made in Germany. It's a high quality steel that will hold it's edge nicely. The prep knife is ideal for small fruits and vegetables, plus meats and cheese.
