Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rusty knives first hand wash I bought two brand new sets. I’ve always used henckles and I had a cheaper set for years I loved but lost set after a fire. I am shocked and very dissatisfied with this set of knives. The rusted immediately after one use hand washing them and drying. Literally one use the block is pretty and the set looks nice but to rust after one use hand washing no soaking it’s just unbelievably low quality steel my cheap never rusted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine jewelry in Kitchen! I always wanted Henckels but they are so expensive, lucky they put them on sale and grabbed a set. OMG why didnt I buy these long time ago. They are so balanced weight and very eligent in kitchen counter top. Stake knifes are too many perhaps they can make them 6 and cut little more cost. I really cant tell how the self sharpening will work as I just got them. They should include filet knife which is missing in their entire line of sets, thats my recommendation. I havent cut meat or any heavy stuff yet but Time will tell how they last.

The only thing I did not love, is that the knife I use most (Santoku) is much smaller than from my last set of Calphalon knives that this set replaced. Other than that, it is far superior to the Calphalon knives I had before.

I don't need 8 steak knives - I would have preferred just 6, except I did not see that option with the knife combinations I need for other cooking. This forced me to "buy up" and get a bigger set than I really wanted. I really like the self-sharpening feature of the knife block. The design of the knife block along with the quality of the knives were key to my purchase decision.

However, this set was a great price, and turns out meets the needs for the knives I was planning on purchasing. I don’t prefer a self sharpening block, so don’t have any opinions on this particular one (as I keep my knives in a drawer). Also, haven’t used the steak knives yet. I have used all of the other knives multiple times and am extremely pleased with the quality!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the knives Bought these at our local Bed Bath and Beyond so was fortunate in finding your out of stock item on the web site. Been using them since we brought them hime. Love that I can finally cut thin slices of meat without tearing the meat. Dicing veggies is a dream. Even found a spot on the counter to place it as it is deeper than the block we had before. I can't get the hang of using a steel to sharpen knives and am glad to have this block.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Henckels reputation Henckels has a reputation for fine cutlery. I was looking primarily for a good chefs knife. Most knife sets have 6 steak knives. This has 8, a definite plus. These types of handles don't fair well I the dishwasher. So they will be hand washed. But, they look great. I am excited about the self sharpening block. We tend to sharpen our knives from time to time. This should prove to be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Knives Ever First I have had a Henckels knife set before and loved it. Sadly I lost it moving. When I opened the box I took the block out and it looks amazing. I inspected each knife and they were perfect and extremely sharp right out of the box. I started to use the paring knife, chefs knife, and carving knife. Let me tell you these knives will cut through anything with ease.

Are the steak knives in this set stamped or forged. They look stamped although it's being advertised as forged.
