Very good steak knives - great value.
These classically shaped, straight-edge steak knives well slice through all your favorite meats - whether they are prepared rare or well done. They will also glide through a beefsteak tomato and a tender crisp asparagus. They are a very good quality and are a very good price.
I really like Henckels Classic knives; I've had a set for more than 20 years. These are forged knives made of quality steel. They have a triple riveted handle, a comfortable integrated bolster. Even if they aren't made in Germany, the steel is, and their quality is unquestionable. I recommend hand washing so always look like new. Hone them regularly and sharpen maybe once a year.

Tiny Handles
Very disappointed in these knives given the cost. The handles are for small hands only and the edges on the knives were very inconsistent: one all sharp, two with sharp and dull spots, and one mostly dull - poor quality control.

Great steak knives. I have 4 in my knife block but it's always nice to have extras. I love that this company offers the change to add to the set. In addition to 4 more steak knives, I have added a few other kitchen knives. These steak knives are really terrific, they cut meat really easily. they look much more expensive than they really are too. Great steel, comfortable handle and really sharp cutting edge, winner all around

Budget Henckels
I received this set as a gift and was surprised Henckels would allow their logo to be displayed on these knives. The quality is obviously not the same as the German made knives. The edges seem to be crudely sharpened and the handles are tiny as another reviewer mentioned. They do seem to be better than many of the knives that used to be manufactured in China but that is no longer true. You can buy some pretty impressive knives made in China now but they cost more. For the current price of $99.99, this set is worth considering if you are willing to take the time to properly sharpen them. Out of the box, they will cut OK but they are capable of so much more. The German steel should perform just fine if the knives are given a proper cutting edge instead of a quick pass on a 200 grit grinding wheel. I am assuming that heat treatment was done properly but who knows.

Classic Knives are good value
Henckels Classic knives are a good value because you get the forged, special formula German steel for a better price because they're manufactured in Spain. This steel is harder, stays sharper and is more corrosion resistant than lower quality steels. These have a fine edge if you're looking to be able to sharpen your steak knives.

Excellent Steak Knives
I wanted good steak knives because we love to grill steaks. Nothing beats slicing into a steak with a fine edge knife; no tearing, just clean slicing.
I bought this set about 4 years ago because I love Classic and the value it provides. It is high quality, forged German steel. They are very sharp and have stayed that way. I resharpen them every few weeks. Forged knives have a little more heft to them, which is what we wanted.

Preferred Edge
These steak knives work very well and have the fine edge I was looking for. Very well made with full bolster and full tang and traditional 3 rivets. Paid a little bit more, but finally have steak knives that cut and not rip. They look really nice on the table, and feel just as good as the steak knives I've used in fine steak houses. Hate to admit but I also use these for some kitchen prep work!

I have 8 steak knives that are part of butcher block set. I'd like to replace them with your best knives. Which would you recommend?
Bobcat,
Some of the best steak knives available are the Zwilling Pro 4.5” steak knife which I've seen in 4-piece sets. I wanted a new set of steak knives, but I'm on a limited budget. So, I bought the J.A. Henckels International classic knife set and we love them. They don't have the detail and craftsman ship of the Zwilling Pro, but they are well made, look good, and are very sharp. I think they can be found at many retail outlets.
