Henckels CLASSIC 4-inch Paring/Utility Knife is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 151.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from general kitchen knife I like that the knife is not serrated. I can keep it sharp. The blade is thin, which is very good. Strong feeling tang and blade, it is not stamped-out sheet stainless. I haven't had it long enough to tell if the steel is hard, and not basic stainless. Henkels had a good name for the steel in their knives. I don't like the low-density plastic in the handle. Other professional knives use a more dense plastic, which gives better balance. I had to take the sandpaper to the handle to radius down the abrupt edges. It seemed kind of unfinished. The light plastic makes it feel like it's probably not a really professional knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good price Wanted a good paring knife on a limited budget. The Classic is made by Henckels which is one of the oldest German knife company's. The steel is from Germany but the knives are actually made in Spain to take advantage of the lower manufacturing costs. This no means affects the actual performance of this knife! Great for small jobs. Hulls strawberries, peels veggies and fruit effortlessly. A true extension of the hand which is exactly what I was looking for in a paring knife. Has become my all time favorite in just a few days. Looking into purchasing a chef and serrated knife s well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from VERY SHARP :) We love them, but they don't match our other Henckels. Just wish you made a 4" that matched our set. They are by far the most used knives in our kitchen. Everything from slicing a delicate tomato to steak, and everything in between. REALLY sharp. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every Home Chef's Dream Knife I was having hard time to cut veggies until I bought this one. Best decision ever!. It cut through any hard vegetable like a butter. Worth every every penny spent. It is super light, smooth & sharp that my husband got scared while I was cutting. HAHAA I can't wait to show my chopping skills to everybody. Rated 4 out of 5 by from go to knife! This is the perfect weight and the perfect size for all of my paring needs. My kids use the parer but when the get older I want them to learn to pare wit ha knife Like my mom taught me. it so soothing and its all about keeping the long paring that gives you joy! I can pare an apple in one long long peel, cant do the potatoes yet but it will happen in my lifetime! the weight on this knife and the sharpness of the edge has me convinced that if I can do it it will be wit this knife for sure!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made in Spain not Germany Having been a Henckels user for over 20 years, I was disappointed to see that my knife was made in Spain. A number of years ago, because of my satisfaction with the brand, I ordered two sets for my daughters. They were your International Brand, made I think in Brazil, One set rusted and the other was difficult to keep and edge. This time I searched to stay away from the International and placed a order that I though was from Germany. I guess time will tell if this is a good purchase.

Years ago I bought several 31160-100 4" Spain and I love them. Is the 31160-101 the same knife?

Asked by: Wolfgirl
The 31160-101 is the same knife as the -100; the -101 is the number used for the knife's packaging.
