Sturdy & nice set
Bought this set online, which concerned me because I couldn’t check the weight of the pieces. I hate using cheap bendable utensils. But these feel solid and take a lot of pressure to bend them even a little. I’m happy with them, especially for the price compared to much more expensive sets I looked at online.
I can’t speak to long-term use yet. This set was purchased for a vacation rental we’re setting up. I’ll try to provide an update after they have been used awhile.
I tried to show the thickness and size of the fork in the photos. The utensils are on the larger side. (I have large hands for a woman.)

Great Set!
My husband and I were looking to replace our current flatware set we received as a wedding gift 15 years ago. We were missing pieces and the set had been discontinued. I am familiar with the quality of J.A. Henckles so I began researching flatware sets and came across the 65 piece Astley on sale. I ordered the set and it was delivered within a week. The first thing I noticed when I opened the set was the nice aesthetics of the flatware. The cutlery was shiny and had a nice design pattern. The utensils are not too heavy, nor too light. I washed all before use and they washed well. I would recommend this set!

Beautiful but not very substantial
I own a set of Henckels Plumeria from at least 10 years ago. Some forks and spoons are missing so after not being able to find replacements I purchased the Ashley 65 piece set. When the sets arrived I took out a fork and compared it with my fork and it was noticeably lighter and noticeably thinner in the handles, too thin for my taste. I ended up returning it and purchasing Angelico which is noticeably heavier and noticeably thicker. After owning a set of their 18/10 flatware I knew I would rebuy from this company.

Simple elegance
We specifically bought flatware from Henckels because of a knife set we were gifted for our wedding. We wanted a nice but simple flatware set we could have for extended family/holiday gatherings. We trusted that Henckels would provide us the best value for our money. We are quite pleased with the set we purchased. We did buy online so the main thing we were surprised by was how slendor the spoons and forks are, they didn't look so slim in the photos. They still has good hand weight and no fears of them being overly delicate. Looking forward to using our flatware for many years to come.

Better in your hands then the reviews!
Read so many reviews since I am order online... had returned 2 other online order because they just do not meet my expectation after extensive reviews. I finally decided to go with this due to many positive reviews about the size in the hands, not too heavy, simple clean look. I am so impressed when they showed up, especially at this sale price! They look and feel great in hands! I was so excited that I immediately unpacked! All meals are at home due to covid so we constantly run out of clean forks! No more hunting for clean forks with this new set for 12!!

Maintenance Required is Above and Beyond
I purchased this set of flatware in December 2020. I specifically checked to be certain it would be "Dishwasher Safe" given the daily use flatware must endure. It can be put in the dishwasher but to maintain spotless flatware requires that no food is left on it for any length of time, do not allow it to be left with water sitting on it and do not leave it in the dishwasher more than 10 - 20 minutes after the cycle ends. Towel it dry. Darkened areas can result where water touches it. These marks can be easily removed (just rub with olive oil).
Basically, hand wash and dry the flatware after using if you want to keep it looking really nice. This is not my idea of low maintenance with utensils used constantly. I was excited to replace my 20 year old flatware but little did I know that modern equipment would be so labor intensive. Signed, Very Disappointed

Beautiful Stainless! Grazie Mille!
I searched for days and nights online fir the perfect stainless at the perfect price. Initially I was hoping to just complete my Oneida Louisiana stainless I’d gotten when we were married 40 years ago, but the cost of the lost pieces was pretty high! Higher than buying a brand new set of a different pattern. I’m older and picky and wanted high quality at a very reasonable price and at least 8 settings. Almost everything I liked was sold out or too expensive. Then I noticed several reviews of a certain J.A. Henckels International pattern that sounded like what I was looking for. I searched all the J.A. Henckels’ patterns and found “Astley.” Classic looks, 18/10 stainless in both 8 settings and 12 settings and a very reasonable price pre-Christmas sales. I was thrilled and quickly purchased a 12 piece setting-large enough for all the children and grandchildren. I was a little disappointed it wouldn’t be delivered before Christmas, but a Christmas miracle occur when it arrived two days before Christmas! It was packaged impeccably and is just as beautiful and classic as it looked online. Thank you, J.A. Henckels! You are now my go to Silver and stainless manufacturer!!

Nice quality and weight.
I appreciate the weight and size of each of the pieces. The packing was amazing! Each individual piece was separately packaged within the box. The front display pieces of the package are held on with a twist type holder as opposed to those horrible zip ties. I've been using them for approximately a month and wash in the dishwasher with no ill effects. I noted in the use and care instructions to not leave them soaking in soapy water which I have been very careful to follow. Also as a bonus, I got them on sale. So far so good!

I have a 65 pc. set of Astley pattern and want to know if I can purchase additional serving spoons separately. Are there iced tea spoons or round cream soup spoons available in Astley? Thanks!
