INGREDIENTS

Sauce

  • 1 onion
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 500 g canned, chopped or sieved tomatoes (passata)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • Salt, pepper
  • Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Italian herb mix

Pasta

  • 500 g pasta, type as desired
  • Salt

Also

  • 30 g Parmesan cheese
  • 4 basil tips

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. For the sauce, peel and finely dice the onion and garlic.
  2. Heat the oil in a pot and sauté the onion cubes in it. Add the garlic and sauté briefly. Stir in the tomato paste and sauté. Add the tomatoes and season with salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar and herbs. Bring to the boil and simmer, covered, over a medium heat for about 15 minutes or until the desired consistency is reached. Season again to taste before serving.
  3. Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente and drain.
  4. Serve the pasta with the tomato sauce. Grate the parmesan freshly over the top using the ZWILLING Z-Cut Mini Grater and serve decorated with a basil tip.

Tip
The chopped or sieved tomatoes can also be replaced with fresh, diced tomatoes.
