INGREDIENTS

  • 2 eggs
  • 500ml buttermilk
  • 50g sugar
  • 1 packet of bourbon vanilla sugar (8g)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 300g wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 packet of soda (5g)
  • oil for baking
  • icing sugar for serving

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Whisk eggs in a mixing bowl until foamy. Add buttermilk, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and continue whisking.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder and soda in a separate bowl and then gently fold into the liquid buttermilk mixture. Let it rest for approx. 15 min.
  3. Preheat the pan with a bit of oil. Drop the batter (diameter of approx. 7 cm) in portions into the pan and bake on medium heat until golden brown (approx. 2-3 min per side). Prepare the remaining batter in the same way.
  4. For serving sprinkle the pan cakes with icing sugar.

Tip
On valentine’s day use a heart stencil to sprinkle the icing sugar over the pan cakes.
