INGREDIENTS

  • Six pears
  • 1 liter of water
  • 500ml white wine
  • 250 g. sugar
  • A cinnamon stick
  • Two star anise
  • A lemon

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Cut the lemons into slices. Place them in a saucepan with all the ingredients except the pears and bring everything to the boil.
  2. Peel the pears and add to the boiling broth, reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for about 30 minutes until the pears are soft.
  3. Take the pears out of the stock and let them cool down. Allow the stock to cool as well and return the pears to the stock for storage. This works best in a sealed jar or in a can.
