Staub 5.5 Qt Cocotte on Induction Stove
I am making the transition to induction cooking and have been replacing most of my cookware. Induction cooking requires cookware that can be magnetized, and the Staub cocotte was a logical choice and with the"Visual Imperfection," price reduction provided an excellent opportunity to try induction cocotte cooking. The results have been fantastic dinners with precise temperature control and effortless cleanup. I plan to expand my collection with other sizes of Staub cast iron cookware and, where possible, I will take advantage of any "Visual Imperfection" price reduction since it had no impact on cooking and was barely visible.

Quailty Issue
Firstly, there are traces of wear and tear on the lid. It easily leads to the conclusion that it was used and returned.
Secondly, several breaches are obvious on the rim of the lid.They can cause rusty easily. It's a quality issue. I don't agree that it is "visual imperfection".
I loved the product and the products of Zwilling JA Henckels. But I felt dissapointed this time. I hope the company can improve the quality control for the online sales
I insist on getting back the purchasing price $107.7 and the cost for shipping back $33.5. I'm open to the option to recieve a brand new one in good condition.

Was disappointed our item had a large chip on the exterior of the enamel about the size of a nickel all the way down to bare metal. Most of the reviews we had read had said much more minor issues. So I guess we just pulled the short straw.

PERFECTION!
I was a bit nervous, thinking the "imperfections" might be problematic for my health such as rust, etc. per reviews, but mine did not have any imperfections on it. I use this at least once a week if not more often. Can't believe I got this at such an incredible price!

Got spammed by Zwilling
I hate to deal with misleading online resources, and it is hard to believe I got spammed by Zwilling. First I have to enroll my email to get 15% off which I only get a link without any code to be applied, then with the Hassle Free mark showing everywhere including the product I bought, then I was being told I cannot return my item because I didn't read fine print. I could have bought my pot everywhere else on Amazon, Costco or Macy's, however, I fell in the trap. The customer service is firm and not helpful which made my purchase extremely unpleasant and inconvenient. I wouldn't trust this business again.

never been more pleased with Staub!
This is my second Dutch oven from Staub. I bought the first round one at full price. Its performance is amazing and so lovely to look at. I decided to get a second one! But since they are expensive I settled for one with "visual imperfections" which had a steep discount. When I received it it was perfect! I spent half an hour trying to find the so-called imperfection but couldn't find it. Staub's dedication to quality must be so high that they don't sell anything at full price if they judge an item to have even a slight flaw under their standards! I'm really happy with this purchase.

THIS IS NOT Visual Imperfectins
I understand that there will be visual imperfections but the one I received is just so bad. I am very disappointed with this product and I think these imperfections will affect its functionality. I can see iron and I know it will rust. I insist on getting my money back and the cost of the return. I'm open to the option to receive a brand new one in fair condition.

Imperfections?? I See None!!
Amazing, amazing find…almost felt like I “stole” this Staub piece for the price I paid!! It was sold with “slight imperfections”, but after scouring over the pot and lid, both inside and out….well, you got me!! Can’t find a blemish!
This is my introduction into the world of Staub cooking. It took this great price to get started but I’ll be back for more pieces again.
I was getting tired of wasting money on “non-stick” cookware and decided it was time to buy my last set - a set that will follow me to my grave (hopefully not anytime soon)!! No better way than to start my collection with Staub!

What does factory second mean? And is it still covered weed by warranty?
Hi Curlyag, Thank you for your question. Factory Second, means it may have some minor visual imperfection (discoloration, blemishes, or enameled-over chips). The performance is never affected.
The Staub Dutch Oven would have the same limited lifetime warranty as it would cover manufacturing defects.
However, the warranty will not cover the imperfection that made the item a factory second as all of the imperfections are purely visual.

If I want to preheat the 7 qt to 400 deg F for braising, how long should I expect that to take and do I have to preheat in stages?
Thank you for your question! When preheating your Staub 7-qt Cocotte to 400°F, simply place the cocotte in a cold oven and allow it to come up to temperature along with the oven. This gradual heating ensures that the cast iron warms evenly and helps protect the enamel.
The time it takes will depend on your oven, but generally you can expect it to warm up in about the same amount of time it takes your oven to preheat. For best results, always allow the cocotte to heat gradually rather than placing it into an already very hot oven to avoid thermal shock.
