Occupational health management

ZWILLING offers a wide range of health-promoting initiatives at its locations across the globe, including preventative check-ups, eye tests, first aid courses and vaccinations. In recent years, we have systematically expanded our health promotion programmes and, as a first step, established a comprehensive occupational health management system at our Solingen site. The focus is on encouraging physical activity, healthy eating, stress management and addiction prevention. To support these goals, we have developed tailored programmes – from nutritional counselling and cookery and yoga classes to online smoking cessation courses.

Exemplary protection: ZWILLING Shanghai receives fire safety distinction

Proactive fire safety at ZWILLING China: The production and logistics site in Shanghai’s Minhang district has been recognised by the city’s fire department as an “Advanced Member 2024”. This honour is awarded to companies that demonstrate outstanding standards in preventative fire protection – only 23 businesses across the city were selected this year, one per administrative district. Notably, just five of the recipients are from the manufacturing sector, with the majority coming from the public sector. 

For ZWILLING, this accolade is the result of years of investment in safety, infrastructure and training. According to the authorities, the site stood out for its state-of-the-art fire protection systems. During all inspections in recent years, facilities such as the fire pump station, sprinkler system, smoke detectors and alarm centre were consistently rated as above average. The auditors also commended the company’s expertise in complying with legal requirements, as well as the commitment of management and strong cooperation with local authorities. The award confirms ZWILLING China’s dedication to providing a safe and healthy working environment for its employees.

ZWILLING India opens on-site nursery

A significant step towards better work-life balance: Since spring 2025, employees at the production site in Swarnabhoomi, southern India, have had access to a company-run nursery. Previously, highly qualified and committed female employees often did not return to work after marriage or the birth of a child – mainly due to a lack of childcare options. The new nursery directly addresses this need. 

Professional childcare is provided by staff arranged through a local hospital, with whom ZWILLING India has established a partnership. In addition, a nurse is always available in the factory’s medical department to provide support if required. 

With this initiative, ZWILLING India is creating new opportunities for women and demonstrating genuine responsibility in a context where family-friendly policies are far from the norm.

Health promotion and local volunteering in Pleasantville

At ZWILLING’s logistics site in Pleasantville, New York, the health and wellbeing of employees is a top priority. More than 180 staff took part in a wellness event in summer 2024 – a strong sign of active health promotion in the workplace. The event focused on physical activity, social interaction and preventative care. 

Community engagement is also an integral part of the corporate culture at the US site: In 2024, ZWILLING employees raised a donation of 15,000 US dollars for the local organisation Feeding Westchester, which works to improve access to food for people in need across the region.
