ASIAN CUCUMBER SALAD This salad is great as a light snack or as a side for Asian dishes.

Marinating time:

  • 400 g cucumber
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • Chili flakes, to taste
  • 1 bunch of chives, to taste

In addition

  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • 2 tsp sesame oil


Wash the cucumber, cut in half lengthwise and remove the core with a spoon. Slice the cucumber. Peel and finely chop the garlic.

Add the garlic, salt, sugar, sesame oil and chili flakes (optional) to the cucumber slices and mix well. Vacuum in a suitable ZWILLING FRESH & SAVE vacuum seal bag with marinating aid. Marinate in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.

When the marinating time is over, drain off the liquid but save it. Wash the chives, shake dry, cut into thin rolls and mix with the cucumbers. Season the cucumber salad with salt, sugar and sesame oil. Add saved marinade to taste (optional) and serve.

This goes well with salmon.

Top tip:

Coriander or mint can also be used instead of chives.
