BUY COOKWARE FOR YOUR OVEN

Pans and pots for the oven offer you many new options when preparing your food. Ovenproof cookware is important for casseroles, stews, steaks and many other oven dishes. We’ll show you what’s special about it and how to spot it. Here we give you some popular ovenproof pots and pans from our range and make you curious about popular oven dishes.

MOST LOVED OVEN DISHES — MAKE NEW COOKWARE WORTH IT

That’s where we want to start: with an appetizer to make you passionate about ovenproof cookware. Because some dishes are best prepared over long, high heat, in ovenproof pots or pans made for the oven conditions.

Ratatouille: A classic French vegetable stew, pre-destined to be cooked in a cocotte or a Dutch oven. If this dish, originating from Provence, also finds its way into your kitchen, it particularly benefits from being prepared in an ovenproof pot, also good with a lid and self-basting (“aroma rain”) such as those for our STAUB cocottes and Dutch ovens.

Christmas roast: The Christmas roast is also a typical oven dish that you can easily prepare with a Dutch oven, for example, the 41-cm Roaster from ZWILLING PLUS. This generous stainless steel cookware is heat-resistant up to 200 °C and allows for ideal heat circulation inside. So the food to be cooked becomes wonderfully tender and full of flavour.

Oven-safe pots and pans – what matters?

It gets your stomach rumbling just thinking about those hot oven delicacies, doesn’t it? Ovenproof cookware is important for their success. This applies to cookware that is suitably heat-resistant, as already seen in our ZWILLING PLUS Roaster. Preparing food in the oven is another thing, as the heat, unlike on the stove, does not just come from underneath. In the oven the heat reaches all sides, often for hours. So not only the base has to be heat-resistant, but the whole pot, including the handles and lid with a knob.

IS COOKWARE WITH PLASTIC HANDLES OVENPROOF?

If some of the individual parts of the cookware, such as the handles, are made of plastic, or the lid made of glass, it often depends on the product — read the product description carefully in this instance. In principle, however, all products with plastic handles are ovenproof up to 150° C. Our Simplify products with silicone handles are even suitable for ovens up to 180° C and the glass lid up to 150° C.

WHICH PANS AND POTS ARE OVENPROOF?

So, later when you are looking in the ZWILLING online store for ovenproof pots and pans, look out for the keyword “ovenproof” and “heat-resistant up to...” This generally applies to stainless steel, cast iron, glass and ceramic and aluminium with plastic handles up to 150 °C. Look for the following sign!

You’ll find the respective notes in the product description as to whether the pan or pot is ovenproof. You can look around for stainless steel products from ZWILLING or DEMEYERE, and also our STAUB brand to find such ovenproof cookware.

STAUB COCOTTES – CAST IRON OVEN SPECIALISTS

STAUB is our homage to the French kitchen – and the oven. In the form of our wide, high-quality range of cast iron pots and Dutch ovens, the STAUB brand makes oven and stew dishes a top priority, along with slow cooking and energy-efficient preparation.
