Quick Tomato Sauce This tomato sauce is super quick to make and can even be made while your favourite pasta is cooking in the pot.

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 200 g cherry tomatoes
  • 1 sprig of rosemary
  • 2 sprig of thyme
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sugar


  1. Weigh and measure all the ingredients, prepare them and place them ready.
  2. Peel the garlic and onion. Wash and halve the cherry tomatoes. Wash the herbs, shake dry and pluck the needles and leaves.
  3. Add the onion and garlic to the blender jar. Close the lid, place the blender jar on the blender. Select the Pulse setting and turn the knob back and forth several times until they are finely chopped.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan and sweat the onion and garlic. Add the cherry tomatoes and sweat these too. Deglaze with the balsamic vinegar, stir in the herbs and braise everything over a medium heat for around 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt, pepper and a generous pinch of sugar.
  5. Carefully tip the contents of the pan into the blender jar. Screw on the lid, select the Smoothie setting and blend the sauce to achieve the desired consistency.
  6. Once the program has finished, remove the lid, season the sauce again and serve immediately with pasta.


Instead of cherry tomatoes, you can also use big tomatoes or even tinned tomatoes. However, make sure you keep an eye on the blender jar's fill level.
