Aprox. 12 PIECES

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 ml milk
  • 1/2 cube of yeast
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 50g butter
  • 500 g wheat flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
    Besides that:
  • Butter for greasing
  • Wheat flour for processing
  • Powdered sugar, if desired

HOW TO MAKE IT

1. For the dough, heat the milk in a small saucepan until lukewarm. Dissolve yeast, sugar and butter in it. Place the flour and the remaining ingredients in the bowl of a food processor. Pour in the lukewarm milk mixture and knead everything for about 10 minutes until the dough comes away from the bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it has visibly increased in size.

2. Preheat the oven to 180 °C top and bottom heat. Grease molds with butter.

3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured work surface. Brush with the softened butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

4. Roll up the sheet of dough from the long side towards the middle, turn the dough rectangle and roll up the other long side towards the middle as well. Cut slices from the roll with a sharp knife, shape them slightly into a heart shape and place them in the molds with the cut side facing down.

5. Bake the cinnamon rolls in the oven on the middle rack for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Remove, dust with powdered sugar if desired and enjoy straight away warm or cold.

TIP

If you want, you can refine the filling with 50 g raisins or 100 g chopped hazelnuts.
