The oval, elegant design in black draws all attention to your fish dishes in a stylish manner. The serving dish can hold up to 0.7 litres and has an attractive appearance thanks to the lid’s striking brass knob. The lid is also equipped with small nubs to redistribute accumulating condensation to the fish, so that it remains juicy during cooking and the flavours can develop fully. All in all, the dish is 36 cm long (including the handles), 8.4 cm high and 20 cm wide. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remarkably versatile, gorgeous pan I got this pan for Xmas, purchased with "visual imperfections" that I have yet to find. I wondered what I might find to do with it, but it was so sleek and unusual, and my experience with Staub is so stellar, that I went ahead and put it on my wish list. This is one of the most unusually versatile pans I have. I am vegetarian, and find it is fantastic for the grilled veggies, tofu, and the like that I usually use it for, plus fish or chicken dishes when a meat eater is visiting. Its wide flat surface is perfect for the job, and it wipes right clean. A breeze to cook in --just use oil or butter or whatever you want, add your dish and cover. Grilled and kind of steamed at once, everything cooks through evenly and beautifully. Minimal sticking, and the occasional staining inherent to grilling is readily cleaned up by soaking in a solution of Bon Ami and water overnight--everything slips away the next morning. Over six months later of frequent use, I defy anyone to tell it apart from a brand new one. And I don't need to tell you, it is a stunner--like all Staub. Looks lovely with my Staub 4 liter round cocotte (Grenadine) and 1.9 liter oval Terrine (Pine), and my other cookware too. I have never served from it without compliments. Definitely worth it, and I'm glad I took the chance on this perfectly "imperfect" pan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cooks nicely, but small Our fish pan only has a tiny dint on the rim of the pan that doesn't effect it at all. We've had no problems with our "visual imperfection" purchases to date and highly recommend them. This pan is the perfect size for 2 fish fillets (almost 1 lb total) and nothing else..... It cooks salmon perfectly (...after much research, trial, and error). I lightly oil the pan, place salmon, a pat of butter, salmon rub or dill, cover, and bake 15 minutes in preheated 350 degree oven. Comes out moist, delicious, and without the unsightly (but edible) white gunk (coagulated protein). Works well on the stove top (about 15 minutes on low heat), too. We also have Staub's Cast-Iron Oval Gratin with Sea Bass Embossed Lid, but it's a little too big & heavy. This pan is a little too small for my family of 2. I wish they made a similar pan in between.... The reason for 4, and not 5, stars is due to the small size and that no recipes/directions are included.
