Peel fruit and create garnishes with the 4-inch paring knife, slice through a crusty loaf of sourdough and make neat cubes of ciabatta with the 8-inch bread knife, and chop herbs, dice onions, and mince garlic with the all-rounder 8-inch chef’s knife.
The self-sharpening slots boast built-in ceramic honing wheels that automatically sharpen when knives are stored or removed. The remaining slots are for serrated knives, with toothed blades that never need sharpening. Each slot is clearly labeled with the corresponding knife it is built to house.

Impressive Set
Right out of the box i was impressed with the sleek, professional, look and solid feel of the knives. This brand came highly recommended so my expectations were high, I was not disappointed! Each knife is razor sharp with a comfortable, sturdy, feel. The block looks great in my kitchen as well.

Disappointment
I placed 2 orders for the knife set. One arrived in badly damaged original pre opened box . Scotch taped to close top. The metal top of the block had become unglued & detached from the block. The other knife set also had the top of knife block in box separate from the block. One set was given to relative who said he’d try to reglue the metal top to the block. Honestly I’m disappointed & amazed at this problem. Can’t exchange so I’ve ordered another set hoping this new one will be intact. The other set !!! Who knows.

Poor quality
Poor quality compared to my other set of Henckel knifes that I got from Costco. This Couteau set just seems of lower quality and a cheaper version of what you can get for alittle more money. The knifes do not fit well into the self sharpening slot. They wiggle around and hang there like they were not made for it. The self sharpening cap to the wood block was broken off and I reglued it on, also the wood block is built with two pieces glued together, but they are separating pretty bad when I recieved it.

The knifes are the quality I would expect however the box came obviously opened and significantly dusty not something I would have expected when purchasing it new.

Henckels Coteau 14pc set
Well the knife set is wonderful except for the fact that the knife block was supposed to be matte black and the one I received is more like a cherry wood color. It wouldn’t have been worth the aggravation of trying to ship it back and reorder.

Product came dirty and damaged
The knifes are okay. However, my knife block came very dusty/dirty so I had to clean it and the metal peice on top of the knife block was broken off.

What other knife does this set come with? There’s only five blades listed but six knife slots and shears are shown on the top portion.

In addition, there is not a Honing Steel included in the set as the Block is self-sharpening with built in ceramic honing wheels in the designated Slots that automatically sharpen when knives are stored or removed.
