Description

ZWILLING Pro is the most user-friendly knife available to market. The unique blade shape and ergonomic bolster are the result of 280 years of experience in knife making, and the rigorous study of how knives are used. A unique curved bolster supports the professional pinch grip, with thumb and index finger on the blade, for safe cutting and less fatigue. ZWILLING Pro 6-inch Utility Knife is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Knife came with a burr on the tip! The knife was a replacement for a 50-year old knife I dropped and broke the handle. I was shocked when it arrived with a tiny burr on the tip. Seriously?? Henkels knives are the top of the line IMHO. At least they always have been. So I called the support line, and was told to return the knife for replacement. And oh by the way, the broken knife would be replaced also, as it has a life-time guarantee. That was a ver pleasant surprise. So both knives went off to Henkels. That was a about 3 weeks ago and I've heard nothing since. I do hope at least one of the knives shows up again, as I seriously can't cook without this knife. When it (they?) do, I'll revise the rating to 5 stars, as I expect a Henkels knife to have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite for mincing This six inch utility knife is an excellent choice for many cutting tasks but it is my favorite go-to for mincing and small dicing. I feel like it has more control over the smaller mincing piles than my larger knives yet it still has the reach I need for the task. Pro series knives have some features that make them top of the line favorites...among those are the curved bolster for a comfortable pinch grip for your thumb and forefinger, perfect weighting of each knife and incredibly hard steel that is corrosion resistant and retains a razor sharp edge use after use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Pro 6" utility knife. Perfect for those in between kitchen jobs, where a Chef's knife is too large, and a paring knife is too small. Extremely versatile, can use to slice, carve, mince, chop, and remove skin from meats and poultry. The Zwilling special formula steel is durable, and makes for a sharp blade that holds it's edge and is easy to maintain. The one piece construction and full tang also helps make this knife extremely durable and offers the qualities I look for in my kitchen knives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great knife for medium jobs I bought this knife at the beginning of the yesr and have been using it almost exclusively. It feels great in the hand, and it cuts like a professional instrument should. I will be purchasing the 10" soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatility and sharpness This knife is used around the world. This shape, this size. It can go from cutting thin slices to doing fine julienne. It will peel and it will mince. For a knife like that, you want a sharp blade edge. This Pro 6-inch is made of one the world's best cutlery steels, created to hold an edge and require little maintenance. Just regular honing and maybe a once a year sharpening. I prefer my knives longer, so I gave this knife 4 stars, however if this is the knife you like to use, it is one of the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All Around Great Knife This utility is your all around knife with its super sharp 6" blade, it can handle almost any task; slicing, chopping or dicing. It has a curved bolster which allows you to grip the knife correctly with little thought. This pinch grip helps eliminate fatigue in your hand when cutting for long periods of time. It is forged from high carbon German steel in Germany. It will be extremely sharp, stay sharp, will be comfortable and durable. Guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great small slicer I use this knife more than I thought I would. It is great for slicing cheese, cooked meats and sandwiches. The slim blade profile gives nice thin slices. The forged German steel and construction gives a strong sharp blade that stays sharp for a long time and is easy to maintain. The curved bolster is very comfortable to hold and encourages the proper holding of the knife. This makes it an extension of my arm and I get straighter more accurate slices naturally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great utility knife This utility knife will slice your meat, fish or veggies beautifully. The special formula stainless steel of the Pro will have lasting durability and sharpness, so you never worry about the blade sawing through your food. Also with the curved bolster, you can grip your slicer knife with ease and comfort. A great alternative to the 8” carving knife, if you are looking for a smaller blade that will be great to slice food but not as daunting of a size.

I'm a vegetarian & use your utility knives as they tend to be the most versatile. Is this good for chopping & slicing vegetables & mincing herbs?

Asked by: creative cook
Yes, this knife would be great for chopping, slicing, and/or mincing smaller vegetables and herbs. For larger tasks, you may want to invest in a chef's knife.

Good morning ! Is this knife more a Utility or Slicing knife ? both description are being mentioned. Thank you

Asked by: chefknife1978
We would consider this a Utility knife because of the length. We have three types of knives that share a similar blade shape: Utility, Carving, and Slicing. Generally speaking, a Utility is roughly 6", a Carver is under 9", and a Slicer is over 9". Utility knives are more multi-purpose than the other two, they can be used for a variety of jobs. Carving knives are long enough to get great slices, but can also be maneuvered around bones (like on a turkey or ham). Slicing knives are mostly single purpose. They make amazing slices, but they are too long and thin to be used for chopping and other jobs.

Hi, how does this utility vs the prep knife comparing if i want something in between the 8" chef and the 3" pairing Zwilling Pro knives ? Is one's blades thicker than the other one ? Thanks a lot Vadim

Asked by: VAK46844
The Prep Knife is very similar to a design that many companies call a petty knife. It has a slightly thinner blade and is light weight. The Utility knife has a thicker blade with a narrow profile. Both knives are versatile and multipurpose. The shape of the utility knife is perfect for slicing, think cheese, butterflying chicken, and similar tasks. The prep knife will do similar tasks, plus it is great at chopping, especially smaller items like garlic and shallots. With the utility knife, you have a slightly longer blade. With the prep knife, you lose a little length and gain knuckle clearance.
