Description

TWIN Signature knives are precision stamped from a single piece of German steel, resulting in lighter weight knives that do not compromise sharpness. The knives are made of proprietary special formula steel that has been perfected for over 280 years. Combined with ZWILLING's signature ice-hardening technique, these FRIODUR blades are harder, sharper, they will NOT STAIN or chip and they retain their sharpness longer.To ensure an ideal cutting angle, the laser-controlled edge is incredibly sharp and is honed and hand-finished by the most skilled artisans. The three-rivet handle embedded with the ZWILLING J.A. Henckels logo provides optimum durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great prep knife This is a really premium stamped prep knife. This knife has a nice comfortable handle to it. Even though this is a stamped knife, the special formula stainless steel has been ice hardened just like Zwilling’s Premium grade forged knives, making this a more durable and sharp blade, just like you were using a forged knife. A great starter knife, with the prep it’s a very versatile knife, with the smaller blade you can still chop and cut with it on a cutting board like it’s a chef knife but not as daunting in size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the lightweight feel of my Twin Signature knives. They have a comfortably shaped handle and a full tang of steel that runs through to the end so even though they are stamped they feel sturdy. The 5.5 inch prep knife is the perfect size when you're preparing smaller portions of fruits, vegetables or meats and you don't need the full reach of a longer chef's knife blade. The specailly formulated steel stay sharp use after use and never corrodes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 Star Knives... 3 Star Packaging The twin signature set of knives I ordered as gifts from Zwilling are beautiful, however rather disappointed in the packaging. I feel that the quality and price of these knives deserves much more classier packaging than a hang on a rack clear plastic container. Also, sending these knives to a customer with simple knife sheaths can't be that pricey for the Zwilling company, considering the price the customer pays for a Zwilling knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like to recommend this knife for young chefs or kids wanting to begin cooking. The size is manageable for smaller hands and has enough knuckle clearance to take on most of the cutting needed for easy recipes. The grip on the handle fits nicely into the palm and feels secure. Made from stamped premium German stainless steel this knife is light weight but sturdy and will hold it's edge with proper care for a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent prep knife A prep knife is a little longer than paring knives, shorter than most chef's knives and is super sharp to make short work of whatever you need to cut up. In a pinch, I've even used a prep knife for boning. This prep knife is a good one. The good size sculpted handle is comfortable, even if your grip isn't as strong as it was. I really like the Signature line of knives because they are stamped from one of Zwilling's top quality steels. The craftsmanship and precision with which they are made gives me confidence that I will be able to enjoy them for years to come. Lighter than forged knives, this line is very popular. The sculpted handles fold into the palm of most people’s hands comfortably. The steel is strong, stable and holds an edge well. They can be and should be sharpened regularly. I recommend hand washing so they always look like new; but they are dishwasher safe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great prep knife I love the size and shape of this knife. Its bigger than my paring knife and smaller than a chefs. The handle is very comfortable to hold and lightweight. I like that the handle is offset unlike a paring knife for easy use on the cutting board. I use this for all my smaller fruit and vegetable prep. The German steel blade is very strong and sharp and stays that way for a long time. A definite go to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for prep When you want a larger "prep" knife, this is an excellent choice. I like to cut some fruits an vegetables in my hand, and this knife works really well for that. It's also long enough with a thicker handle to work on the cutting board. sharp, durable and well balanced. I like the classic three rivet look. Really blends in well with the rest of my knives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable grip! Great size prepping food knife for this Twin Signature is comfortable in my hand. Perfect size and comfortable cutting foods. It's narrower and smaller than 8" chef knife but it is a very useful to have and less maintenance. Depending on the size, it is great for cutting, chopping and slicing meat, fruits and vegetable.
