I always say Four Star II is one of my favorite knife series not just because its sturdy and forged but because the handle has a unique molded shape that is so comfortable and secure. The stainless end cap provides a nice touch and a bit of added balance. If you've never used a cleaver give this a try. They are designed with a broad blade to withstand a more aggressive chopping motion but can also be used for normal chopping tasks and the broad blade is nice for scooping your cut items and transferring into the prep vessel.

The design of the meat cleaver is perfect. It almost has a compact feel. The knife is made from German Special Formula steel and ice hardened which equals complete durability.
The cleaver is also forged from one piece of steel so there are no pieces welded together which can always be a point of stress. A lot of pressure when using a cleaver so this is really important. I use this cleaver for small jobs, think taking apart a chicken, all the way to taking apart a beef shoulder.

great cleaver
I am very pleased with this cleaver. Too many cleavers rely on size and weight to force their way through bone and meat. This one relies on quality of material. The forged German blade is sharpened to the perfect angle. The quality of the steel keeps it sharp for a long time and is easy to maintain. The handle is very comfortable and the texture gives me confident in my grip while using it.

Great cleaver
Bought to “cut” chop a roast pig shoulder. This is a roast that doesn’t lend itself to be easily cut with a knife With a few placed chops I was easily able to cut through bone and the meat to serving size pieces. Heavy cleaver but not to heavy. Does the job quickly and efficiently. Somewhat “pricey” but it is quality blade that should last. Great tool to add to the kitchen

Sharp and durable cleaver
This cleaver is not as daunting in size, but still gets the job done of cutting through big pieces of meat, produce with little effort needed. With the Four Star II, this is a little bit heavier than the Four Star cleaver, but it provides a nice weight to it. Also with the sigmaforge aspect of the knife, this is a sturdy and durable cleaver. A great addition to any kitchen.

This cleaver is built to do the job! Super heavy this will cleanly cut through the toughest bone and joints. Also great for opening those hard to get into acorn sqashes. Made from premium, ice-hardened German steel this cleaver will hold an edge longer and be more corrosion resistant. The molded handle feels secure and fits nicely into the hand.

Terrific meat cleaver
Really good weight to this cleaver. The weight is in the blade to help with chopping through bones. The polypropylene handle is a little softer to grip and won't slip or slide with wet hands. This knife will work for you. Highly recommend hand washing. It will keep the knife looking like new for as long as you own it.

What is the exact dimension of the blade, especially the width? I want to know if it can fit in my 9-slot block. The widest slot is 5 cm wide.
The specifications for this knife are:
Total length - 11.2"
Width - 3"
Blade Thickness - 0.17"
Weight - 14.74 oz

Can this knife cut through bone?
You can cut through most poultry bones and other softened, cooked bones with this item, but it is not necessarily intended for that purpose. Repeated contact with a hard surface can contribute to chipping in the blade.
