Description

Do not overheat or put in dishwasher!
I bought the two-piece Spirit Ceramic Nonstick Fry Pan set and it worked great a few times to cook eggs, which would slide out of the pans. After a while, the pans would stick terribly no matter how much oil I used and how low the heat was. I returned the pans and they sent a replacement. The new pan is perfectly non-stick.
I have come to the conclusion that these pans cannot be overheated. I had never put the pans in the oven, so it must have been the dishwasher that heated them up enough to destroy the nonstick finish. Zwilling should change their instructions to: For Stovetop Use Only and NOT Dishwasher Safe.

Update from earlier post
I sent the 'sticking' (2) pans back to ZWILLING under the 2-year warranty for their review. I followed all steps required for the warranty and spent $11.50 via USPS for shipping. I happily recieved (2) new replacement fry pans. They work as well as the others when initially purchased. The color of the 'non-stick' coating seems darker than original. I'm hopefull they will stand up to the Zwilling name I so much trust with my cultery.
Thank you ZWILLING customer care for acknowledging and correcting the issue. When it's time to replace these, I will choose a different product line from ZWILLING.

Very disappointed
I bought these for a good chuck of money thinking they'd last longer and be better than the 20$ junk I bought at Target and found out that although the construction is 10 times better, they will end up sticking after about 1-2 month of daily use. I handled them with great care, never put on high heat, always used plastic spatula in them, yet now they stick like any regular cheap non stick pan. It was AWESOME at first (cooking eggs with no fat, no butter, no oil) but now even with fat, it sticks...

Worst pans. NOT NONSTICK
I bought these as a splurge when I wanted to treat myself to a new set of nice pans. I have Zwilling knives and they're the best but these pans have very very poor non-stick qualities. In fact, I would not call them nonstick at all and they are far worse than the cheap pans I got from Macy's 10 years ago. So sad I wasted my money on these. I tried getting a refund from where I got them and also tried calling Zwilling (no customer service). Very upset. The attached photo is from my stir-fry tonight.

Non-stick?
I bought these to replace our aging non-stick pans. I like the way they evenly heat all types of food. What I don't like is that unless you are very accurate with the heat and the amount of fat (oil or butter), the surface is definitely not "non-stick".
These pans are not different enough from my standard high end non-coated pans. I would not buy again...especially for the price.

Waste of money, VERY disappointed
Purchased this set of fry pans just under a year ago with high expectations. Never put in dishwasher, never cooked on high heat, always hand washed. The non-stick is non-existent now...don't even think about trying to fry bacon, see photo after frying 4 pieces of turkey bacon on low.

Horrible Pans
These are horrible pans - Not non stick at all! Coating wore off quickly and I was very careful to cook per instructions. Would never recommend to anyone. My husband bought me a set as a gift and they were expensive. I did a lot of research (obviously not enough) and now we are stuck with terrible pots and pans as we cannot afford to re-buy new ones right now.

I bought these pans over a year ago at Bed Bath & Beyond. I liked that they were stainless steel with non-stick coating. I have a gas stove and pans do heat up quick, so you have to cook everything on very low heat. I don't like that I always need to butter or oil in the pan, so definitely not non-stick. These pans are also a pain to clean.

My nonstick pans are 5 years old and many are now coated in a black layer I cannot get off with normal Washing. Is this the aluminum core coming through so I shouldn’t try and remove it? Is it still safe to cook on?
The aluminum core is a silvery metallic disc that is below both the nonstick and stainless steel layers. The pan would have to sustain substantial damage or wear to expose it. Likely, what you're seeing is charring from overheating. Over time, the nonstick coating will lose its nonstick properties and can burn easier. The typical lifespan of ceramic nonstick is 3-5 years, so we would recommend replacing your cookware when you're ready if it's no longer performing as it should.

All reading in this area suggests that my pans got overheated. They quickly gather a film when frying and do not release easily. Can they be revived, restored to their prior nonstick property, or do I need to swap them out?
Ceramic nonstick is particularly sensitive to heat and is best used at low to medium heat per use and care guidelines. Unfortunately, once nonstick properties diminish, there is no way to restore them. Our nonstick coatings are guaranteed for two years. If you believe the issues you're experiencing are due to a potential manufacturing defect, you may consider filing a warranty claim. Can I get these recoated? I have had mine for almost 5 years and they could use a rejuvenation.
We do not offer a repair/re-coating service. If nonstick performance has diminished as a result of normal use, you may need to replace your cookware.

Do these pans need to be "seasoned" to help keep food from sticking? I don't have a frequent problem with food sticking, but when it happens it is a huge problem that soaking doesn't seem to help with....
No, nonstick cookware does not need to be seasoned before use. In fact, traditional seasoning methods can scorch and destroy the nonstick coating. Ensure that you are using an appropriate amount of the right kind of cooking fat for what and how you're cooking, i.e. butter or olive oil for lower temperature tasks and oils with higher smoke points, like vegetable, peanut, or coconut oil, for cooking or frying at higher temperatures.

What are the differences, if any, of the Zwilling "Spirit" Ceramic sold here, and the Zwilling "Titanium" Ceramic sold by William Sonoma?
