Additional Information

Respected as an innovator in the industry, ZWILLING J.A. Henckels remains rooted in the foundation upon which it was built: a tradition of quality and excellence forged nearly three centuries ago. The ZWILLING Pro Holm Oak adds a handsome wooden handle to the company's most user-friendly knife, the ZWILLING Pro. Crafted from Mediterranean Holm Oak, this ergonomic, triple-riveted handle boasts strength and stability within its handsome wood grain.

Combined with the innovative curved bolster, which acts as an extension of the hand, chefs enjoy improved comfort and cutting technique with every use. Strengthened by an exclusive, special formula, high carbon stainless steel, the ice-hardened blades are harder, sharper, and they will not stain or chip. Discerning chefs appreciate how well they retain their sharpness with regular use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really dependable knife i had the pro and it worked wonders for me, and made me love this brand. now i have this knife and i love it too, it is just as good and has never failed me. as a chef i truly appreciate the craftsmanship and durability that this brand and this specific knife bring to the table. there were some very minor issues with the fit and finish of the handle but that is not a problem at all and does not affect the way i feel about the knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Distinctively The quality of this knife is unquestionable. It is part of the Pro line, one of Zwilling's best. The steel will hold up for a lifetime and the knife requires little maintenance, just an annual sharpening and a weekly honing (see the 2-stage sharpeners if you are timid about honing). It has an angled bolster, a new design features that matches the grip of professional chef's. It keeps the thumb and forefinger in the correct position for maximum control. I like arc of this knife too; great for dicing, mincing, chiffonade and julienne. The Pro Holm Oak line features an oak wood handle. This hard, beautiful wood will be enhanced over time. Rub a little mineral oil into it to keep it rich and smooth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great German knife I love this knife. It is the epitome of the Zwilling brand. I love how the weight of the knife is perfectly balanced, and that the bolster has the perfect placement for the pinch grip hold. I love how this chef knife has an unique blade shape in that it’s curved more than traditional German knives and that way I can rock, slice and chop with this knife super easily. It feels solid and with the ice hardening and forging aspects of this knife, it’s going to last for a long time. I also love this Holm Oak wood, I typically like a darker grain of wood, but this one looks so good against the stainless steel and it’s a really durable wood, which is great for longevity. A great knife to invest in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so so so pretty! Love the feel of the knife and the value! I really like the Pro knives from Zwilling, but this is a special knife. I like the look of the wood handle when we are using it at the table, the regular ones seem so utilitarian and in the kitchen thats perfectly fine. I bring these knives to the table because they look so much more elegant and yet they have the same feel and cutting acumen of the Pro series that I use in the kitchen. They do require more attention as the handles need to be dried after washing but I take good care of my knives anyway and only use these for a seated dinner presentation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great knife. Slow shipping. Blemishes. It took exactly two weeks to arrive which was late for our holiday party so I couldn't use my new cutlery. Aside from the very slow shipping, it arrived with some deep and noticeable scratches in the center that you can feel when you run your finger over it. It also had some gunk on the blade and finger prints. I have other Pro Oak knives that I've bought from Cutlery and More that arrived flawless and I expected as good or better service directly from the source. Pretty disappointed overall and may send back.

I just bought one of these and am wondering if I need to treat the wooden handle with anything?

We recommend conditioning the handle with mineral or camellia oil as needed.

Other than the handle, is there a difference between the Pro Holm Oak 8" Chefs Knife and the 8" Pro?

Asked by: Jerry37
No, the only difference between the two styles of knives is the material of the handle.
