The KRAMER by ZWILLING EUROLINE Carbon Collection is the first line created with Master Bladesmith Bob Kramer. With over 18 years of forging experience, Bob has partnered with ZWILLING J.A. Henckels to craft a knife that is an exact replica of the straight carbon steel knives made in his Olympia, Washington workshop.Bob's design has an extremely wide blade to maximize knuckle clearance for larger hands and for cutting through large produce and piles of food. Chopped food can easily be transported with this impressive, broad blade.A material nearly lost to the home kitchen, straight carbon steel requires knowledge and care to maintain. In return, owners will be rewarded with a sharpness and keenness of edge that only straight carbon can deliver. Hand-finished with a 3-step process by the most skilled Japanese artisans, the outstanding blade is paired with a stunning handshaped Grenadille wood handle with brass rivets and a Bob Kramer mosaic pin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best utility knife! I liked the wide blade it covers more food and maximize knuckle clearance for every cutting needs. This is a knife that almost never needed to sharpen knife. A carbon steel knife every chef should have. A super sharp to cut through meat, vegetables,fruits and even great for breads. Sharpness and keenness of edge 100% carbon steel has it. It has a 61 Rockwell Hardness equal exceptional edge retention, and it's traditional 3-step hand sharpening for exceptionally high sharpness. Handle can be applied with mineral oil once in awhile with minimal maintenance to keep its natural wood shineness.

Master knifesmith, Bob Kramer, knows what he's doing when he insists on using straight carbon steel in his Euroline collection. Straight carbon steel will corrode when exposed to moisture so it is important to clean and dry it thoroughly after each use but it is exceptionally hard, strong and crack and chip resistant. The 5 inch utility is a nice length for multiple cutting tasks and the handle is curved for comfort and knuckle clearance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made by Master Blade Smith Bob Kramer these knives do not disappoint. 100% Carbon steel knives are not as common as they used to be but still are a superior knife. While stainless steel is a great material for knives and easier to care for, Carbon steel stays sharper longer, is easier to sharpen and has a tougher edge. A Carbon Steel knife is the ultimate performance tool. This utility knife is the perfect length for smaller cutting jobs. Great for mincing onions, shallots and herbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Knife This 5" fine edge utility is such a handy knife. It's small enough to peel an apple or mince garlic but large enough to chop a small onion or pepper. It has such an incredibly sharp edge, made from carbon steel, that it's perfect for slicing paper thin meat and cheese too. Carbon steel requires a little extra care, but you're rewarded with a knife that is easy to keep sharp. The Bob Kramer design has a large handle that fits perfectly in your hand and is extremely beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great knife I really am happy with this knife. Its the perfect size for when I dont want to pull out my full sized chefs. The pure carbon blade is super sharp and stays sharp for a long time. It is very easy to resharpen. The double taper Kramer design gives it great balance. The Grenedile handle with its brass accents is very comfortable to hold. I love the Kramer mosaic embellishment as well showing the attention to detail both from Kramer and Zwilling in this partnership.

It doesn't get any better, sharper, more durable, or more stunning! The brass details make all the difference when compared to stainless details. The mosaic pin adds that last fine touch, and the wide blade will make you want another!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zwilling Employee True carbon steel is a joy to cut with. the edge retention and incredible sharpness are unmatched. if you are willing to be meticulous maintaining your knives, you will be rewarded. The handle should be kept dry and oiled, and the blade needs to be cleaned and dried completely after each use. Oiling the blade will also help keep patina away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfection the blade and the handle are in perfect balance. The brass details are stunning. Super sharp and durable. the 5" size is perfect for longer vegetables and fruits. I also grab this knife when slicing eggplant and zucchini. You will slice an onion without shedding a tear! Created by a Master. Well worth it!

How flexible is this knife?
