Great OptionThe Gourmet 8" chef's knife is a great addition to my culinary collection. I love the weight, and the full tang which makes the knife durable enough to cut through hard items like carrots, potato and winter squash.
This is my go to everyday knife. Great for chopping, slicing,and mincing. Comfortable grip, and nice balance. This knife makes preparing food effortless, and has really made the time in the kitchen much easier and more enjoyable. Great investment.

PhenomenalI received this as a gift in the full set, and now I’m gifting my mom the set piece by piece. I have an average size hand for a woman, and I cook a LOT. I have had knife sets in the past, also by the same brand - however these ones seem to fit and feel extremely well weighted and balanced in my hand. The smaller knives (the paring knife, vegetable knife, and the 6” slicer) feel like an extension of my arm. I’ve literally never loved a knife more than these. I am ecstatic about them. So yea, if you’re considering it.. do it. I think you’ll be very pleased! Definitely get all of them. Even the little baguette cutter knife is such a nice petite size but big enough for the job.

The joy of having the perfect toolI am not a novice cook. But with my new Zwilling knives, my 8” chef (and my steak knives) I feel like I am starting all over again …..And in joy. Using this chef’s knife for prep of meats, fish and especially vegetables is so much easier. I have been preparing meals with an emphasis on vegetables for decades and this knife makes slicing and dicing a breeze, with the width of the rounded blade (which allows me to practice that ultra-fast chop one sees on cooking shows), I can move the cut-up veggies to the pan or pot quite efficiently. It handles massive carrots as easily as halving grape tomatoes . My only complaint about these products? That I didn’t know about them years and years ago……

Stamped instead of forgedIf you're looking for a stamped knife which is cut from a single sheet of metal as opposed to a heavier forged bolster (steel that's been pressed and formed into a shape) then this is a great choice for you. It is made in Germany from high quality corrosion resistant steel. It will retain it's sharp edge longer and has a full tang (the steel continues through to the end of the handle) which provides a nice weight distribution and feel in your hand.

Priced right for German CutleryAlways try to buy the best I can afford. Went with the Zwilling Gourmet because it is made in Germany with German steel, but priced like some of the competition made in Asia.
Has a full tang for durability, riveted handle, for classic look, and high carbon steel which resists staining, holds an edge and is easy to maintain.
This is my all purpose knife that I use everyday for chopping, cutting, and mincing. Nice grip, feels very comfortable in the hand, and it it light weight which prevents fatigue. Planning on purchasing a paring and bread knife from the same line.

Zwilling J.A.Henckels are true champs!Its the quality of the product that makes you come back. My grandfather who passed away some 25 years ago (I’m 57!) would always show me his little manicure scissors with the twins emblem and told me how great they were, he had them for many years in his possession. I once gifted him a new pair that came with a little metal cover for the scissor tips. As good as the first. When purchasing my gourmet knife I had no doubt about how great it would be, and I’m proud of owning and using my Chef knife and plan to keep it for many years, Cheers to Zwilling-J.A.Henckels

Amazing Chef's KnifeI'm embarrassed to admit this, but I've been using a cheap $20 knife set from Amazon that I bought years ago. I finally decided to upgrade my kitchenware, and bought this knife as part of my kitchen overhaul. Phew, when I picked it up to chop up some onions and mince garlic for my dinner--you can FEEL the difference in how smoothly the knife cuts through pretty much anything (vs me struggling to cut through any vegetable with my previous cheap knife). Definitely recommend for anyone who's looking for a solid chef's knife for their kitchen!

Best knife ever madeI ve tried Dalstrong and Wustoff, but Zwilling chef’s knife 8” beats them all. Perfectly balanced, sharp, and very comfortable to use.
What is the difference between the gourmet and 4 star series?

Hi both series are exceptional! Our Zwilling Gourmet series is stamped, with the traditional three-riveted handle with a full tang and stainless steel rivets that balance blade and handle perfectly. The center rivet is laser inscribed with the Zwilling logo. Our Four Star series is a fan favorite, precision forged from a single piece of steel, the SIGMAFORGE® knives are exceptionally sturdy, balanced, and flexible blades. Full bolster, 3/4” concealed Tang and sure grip smooth handles. We hope this helps!

What is the warranty on your knives
I have one that the knife inside the handle broke vertical but the handle itself isn’t broken.
Love the knife but it wiggles when being used.
