Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect pair This is such a great Prep knife set. Prep knives are ideal for slicing, chopping fruit, veggies. A smaller blade and not as daunting in size, the Prep is still capable of doing the work of a bigger blade. With the set you get a straight edge and serrated blade, both types you need in a kitchen. The steel is really durable for a stamped knife since the high carbon stainless steel was ice hardened, helping give the knife a longer and sharper edge than most stamped blades. The handle really contours nicely in my hand as well. A great comparable knife if you like the look of the Zwilling Pro collection, but want a budget friendly price point.

This prep knife is a double deal go-to knife, it feels great and functions well for daily use. It is a perfect size, comfortable handle, and sharpness is exceptional. A serrated knife is excellent for cutting crusty bread and fruit knife. Both knives are great for cutting meat, bread, vegetables, fruits and poultry. These are forged blades from a single piece of solid steel, ergonomic polypropylene handle. German-made special formula high carbon steel with 57 Rockwell Hardness = excellent edge retention.

The prep knife can take on all those small projects such as mincing garlic, herbs and shallots. It also works great on small citrus and apples. Has a nice amount of knuckle clearance for maximum cutting performance. Having one with a fine edge and another with a serrated edge makes this a set of knives that will tackle most if not all projects in the kitchen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The prep knife is one of the most used knives in my kitchen, so why not have both the serrated and fine edge? I use them both for different foods, the serrated more for tomatoes, avocados, citrus and breads and rolls, and the fine edge for everything else.The Gourmet line is made in Germany, stamped and ice-hardened for that ultra great quality that gives you sharpness, durability and a corrosion free blade. You will use and use these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You don't have to choose! This is a great way to get two useful knives...the prep knife in...both a serrated and fine edge. Sometimes you need the serration whether your cutting citrus, tomatoes, sausages, or any time of bread including cutting sandwiches, while other times you want this prep size for dicing, cutting and mincing in which case you'll want the fine edge. These are both light weight because they are stamped but they are sturdy and sharp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great prep set These two knives cover all of your prep needs. The German stainless steel is strong and sharp. They hold an edge for a long time and are easy to maintain. The serrated blade is great for tomatoes, bagels, citrus and anything else with a tougher outside and softer inside. The straight blade is great for all other vegetable and herb prep. The handle is offset so it is great to use in hand or on the cutting board.

The serrated is perfect for slicing pineapples, crusty breads, bagels and baguettes. I also like to use that knife for cutting crumbly cakes and pies. The straight edge is all around useful - fruits, vegetables, cheese and meats. the handle is classic in design and very comfortable to hold.

They can be used as a paring/utility knife for something small, while the wider heel of blade allows for chopping something larger on the cutting board. The serrated blade is ideal for cutting through items with a firm outsider and soft inside. Lightweight German stamped blade and comfortable handle.
