Awesome Bread KnifeA good bread knife is a true game changer if you bake your own bread or buy fresh loaves from a bakery. The sharp, scalloped blade slices cleanly, not smashing down the loaf. It's also the perfect knife for cutting up a watermelon. Keep this knife in mind for anything that's hard on the outside and soft on the inside.
Four Star knives are made in Germany, forged from high carbon German steel and are guaranteed to last a lifetime just like the Pro knife. The molded handle is the perfect solution for someone who prefers a lighter knife but doesn't want to sacrifice quality.

Great bread knife! My mom has had this bread knife for decades. I lost count of the years. She uses it almost everyday and it has never been sharpened and it still glides through crusty loaves, dense loaves, light and fluffy loaves. She never puts it in the dishwasher, so it looks like new. My dad and brother never took it out the garage to see if it could cut 'that wire' they were struggling with. I have pulled it out to use on heirloom tomatoes that are huge from the farmer's market; really ripe peaches, pears, plums sometimes too. Everything they say about the quality - well, this knife proves it.

Chef approvedI purchase this on the recommendation of my friend who is a professional chef. He starting using the Four Star line in Culinary School, and has not switched in 20 years.
The knife is so comfortable, and cuts through the crustiest of breads very easily. Love the serration which help cut not rip bread. Also a great tool for slicing angel food and sponge cakes without crushing.
This knife has a lifetime warranty so I know it has to be great quality, and that the company will stand behind this product. Will be purchasing additional knives for my collection without hesitation.

The great bread knife! This is a great knife, its serration is one of the sharpest, it'll cut through everything not just bread. I love this knife cutting through leafy vegetables and fruits with delicate skin, can cut meat, and sausages.
This serrated knife is everyone's favorite, we gave this knife to almost every family member, my husband's family. They had a chance to choose from bellasera flatware, variety of beauty items and variety of knives in the pile. This serrated knife is one of the most popular picked and they said, it is the most sharpest knife they ever used.

New Bread Knife!I bought it to replace the same bread knife that was part of my wedding gift set ( back in 1991) that fell to the floor and the blade broke in half !!! I'm very happy with the new knife, and use it everyday for bread, slicing large tomatoes and even roast meats.

Since 1985I’ve had this knife since 1985. I bought it through my employer and have never regretted the purchase. However about two years ago I noticed a crack in the handle that runs from the center of the bolster/handle interface on the bottom to almost halfway down the handle. Here’s my dilemma my knife blade is still in great shape and sentimentally it means a great deal to me. Can I return it for a repair and keep the original blade or will it be surrendered for a replacement?

The best knife I’ve ever owned!I came across this knife in an abandoned house about 8 months ago and thought it would be just another knife...boy was I wrong! I am a collector and usually look up everything I find but never got around to this knife until now..I realized right away that it cut everything I used it on in the kitchen..then slowly found that it cuts EVERTHING! I’ve literally cut out a houseful of old carpet because razor blades dulled to fast..this knife never dulled. I’ve cut wood...leather...rubber and it still cuts a tomatoe without a problem..I even noticed it missing one day and asked everyone in the house if they had it..turns out my husband had taken it to work and was cutting window trim with it because it was easier then a hand saw!! Of course if I had looked it up sooner I would not have used it as hard as I have but this is why I’m here to praise the quality of this knife!!! I tell eveyone about it...I wish I had a smaller one for my craft projects and hopefully one day I’ll be able to afford one...thank you ZWILLING & AJHENCKELS for producing this wonderful product! It is model 31076. 8” and have no idea how old it really is...it’s just fantastic!

Great serrationThis is a great bread knife. This is one of my go-to knives in the kitchen. The serration is so much better than other serrated bread knives I’ve used. This does a beautiful job of cleanly slicing bread, fruit, meat without tearing or squishing. Also since this is a lighter knife, the weight is nice on it and not too heavy even with it being a long blade.

What is the difference between the models of four-star and four-star II bread?
Asked by: André
The Four Star series is one of our most popular and has been manufactured the same way for forty years. The Four Star II is an updated version of this. The Four Star II has a stainless steel end cap that helps add balance and weight. Otherwise, the blades and handle materials are the same.
