Description

The ZWILLING chef’s knife has an extra large blade with a length of 24 cm. With it, you can even cut larger pieces of meat with ease. However, this knife is equally well-suited for cutting vegetables or fish and can even be used for chopping herbs. It is made of a very special steel that is particularly hard and long-lasting. This chef’s knife belongs to the ZWILLING Diplôme series. With its development, the top chefs from “Le Cordon Bleu” contributed their expertise, and they were allowed to express their wishes regarding the perfect knife. Therefore it has a particularly hard blade made of FC61 steel that is seamlessly connected to the handle. It is made of high-quality plastic and has an ergonomical form. As a result, there is no tiring in the hands and wrist joints, even when the knife is used for longer periods. Both hobby chefs and professionals are ideally equipped with the practical chef’s knife from the ZWILLING Diplôme series. It simplifies all your cutting work because, thanks to its small grinding angle of 20°, it is particularly sharp. The Japanese knife also has a Honbazuke cutting edge, as is the case with its role models from Japan. Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Zwilling Diplome is a beautiful 9" Chef knife, it is made in Japan but is still a German-engineered knife. While it may look like the Miyabi Evolution, it slightly has a different handle. The handle is ergonomically designed to make knifework easy on the hand and wrist muscles. The blade boasts an authentic Japanese blade profile made of an impressive FC61 special steel, hardened to approximately 61 Rockwell. This knife can be used for many purposes, cutting and slicing large food such as meat, vegetables, fruits like melons and can use for larding, and its versatility makes a must-have knife in every kitchen! I personally recommend handwashing this beautiful knife keeping in pristine condition and sharpness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value for a nice steel, western handle This is right in the sweet spot of price and quality for me. The steel (I'm unsure what FC61 is?!) is hard enough to retain an edge, but seems soft enough that it won't chip. The blade has a perfect shape (IMHO), somewhere in between Gyuto and French Chef knife, with a western style handle. I've put through a few 4k whetstone passes after ever other week of heavy use-- not a full sharpening session yet, more like a light strop/polish on the stone, to touch up the edge, and that has worked out beautifully so far. Razor sharp still!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of both worlds This 9.5" chefs knife is a multi purpose knife . Super sharp, durable and well balanced. I use this size knife when I have piles of vegetables to slice and dice. Asian styling and German steel make this a best in class blade. I like the curved bolster for complete use and sharpening of the blade. The classic three riveted handle is comfortable to hold. Well balanced, beautiful knife.
