The updated design of the German-made Five Star series incorporates a unique handle crafted to fit in the contours of your hand, creating a masterpiece of safety, ergonomics, and comfort. Each Five Star knife is forged from a single piece of high carbon stainless steel resulting in a sturdy, balanced blade. The ice hardened FRIODUR® blade is hand sharpened and polished to 15° on each side for precision cuts with every use.

The shape and size of this knife makes it a great addition to your knife collection. The prep knife can take on all those small projects such as mincing garlic, herbs and shallots. It also works great on small citrus and apples. Has a nice amount of knuckle clearance for maximum cutting performance.
Forged from premium German stainless steel that has been ice hardened for corrosion resistance and exceptional edge retention. Each knife is sharpened and honed by hand. Well balanced with an ergonomic molded handle, light weight, full tang and bolster and an acute angle on the edge all together provide you with an incredible cutting experience.

perfect prep knife
I love this line. The forged German stainless steel is so sharp. It stays sharp for a very long time and is easy to maintain. All signs of high quality cutlery. The ergonomic handle is very comfortable to hold at any angle. The handle material texture gives me a strong confident grip when cutting. I use this knife for all my smaller prep work and is probably the most used knife in my kitchen. The size is perfect. It fits that space between my paring and chef's knives. Its great for peeling, shaping and other hand work and the offset handle makes it great to use on a cutting board as well. That combined with the comfort and quality make meal prep easy and enjoyable.

Nice lightweight prep
A great small blade that is still able to do the work of a chef knife. This prep knife is perfect for slicing, chopping all different foods, but being smaller in size, is great to use on smaller surfaces and smaller produce. This is a great knife, very lightweight, so it won’t get tiring in hand when using. Even though it’s smaller in size, you can still easily use it on a cutting board, so a great knife to have, especially if you like smaller blades.

The five star line is a super sharp, durable and well balanced knife. The handle is smooth and comfortable to hold. The half bolster on this prep knive allows for full use and sharpening of the blade.
This knife is a perfect size for slicing and chopping small to medium sized fruits, vegetables and meats. A good choice for hard cheeses and salami. Easy to use and maintain.
Great value for a quality German Steel prep knife.

Good little knife
I was looking for a mini or smaller santoku style knife and this seemed to approximately fit the bill
Pros:
Sharp out of the box
Nice size
My partner who doesn’t have lots of knife skills finds this very comfortable to use
It is great for prepping tasks
Room for improvement:
Handle was much lighter than expected, makes it feel less solid
The handle shape is not optimized for the way I naturally hold the knife

Small but Mighty
A top of the line knife from the Five Star family, you'll find this knife is a workhouse in the kitchen. Same great quality and construction as the Pro knives. It's forged from high carbon German steel and made in Germany. The molded handle is extremely durable, light weight and very comfortable. Guaranteed to last a lifetime.
I love this little prep knife! It is perfect for smaller fruits and vegetables; and I love using it on a meat and cheese tray.

This little prep knife is a must have in every kitchen. The blade shape allows for versatile cutting and is made from reputable German steel that stays super sharp for a long time and never stains or rusts. Although this knife is very light in weight, it really makes up for it with a smooth, comfortable handle that balances the knife out really well.
