Description
The Staub Cocotte is unsurpassed for slow cooking meats and vegetables to tender perfection and for simmering hearty soups and stews. Cast iron possesses exceptional heat retaining qualities, resulting in even heating throughout. The innovative lid features tiny spikes on the interior that continually release condensed liquid back onto the food, yielding moist, flavorful results. The Cocotte also makes a great serving piece, going directly from stove to table. This product may have minor visual imperfections, though this will not affect the product's performance. This may include discoloration, blemishes, or chips that have been enameled over.
- Ideal for searing and slow cooking of roasts and whole chickens
- Juicy and tender cooking result thanks to the lid
- The matt black inner enamelling is ideal for particularly crisp searing and is especially durable
- Suitable for all types of hobs, incl. induction, can also be used in the oven/grill

Best Prime Rib Ever!
I bought this Cocotte a couple weeks ago and its inaugural run was an 8# prime rib.

This cocotte is the perfect size!
I've had this piece in sesame for three years, it's my go to when I want to cook something large or have company and need to make enough for a small army. I've often wished I had another, now I do. The imperfection seems to be that the insides of the handles are a little rough, fine for me, easier to handle. Or maybe the color wasn't quite right for the customer they manufactured it for. Bordeaux is a bright cranberry red, beautiful!
The oval shape accommodates almost anything you want to put in it.
Staub skillets and cocottes are the best cookware available. They maybe heavy, but they are nearly non-stick with a very light coat of oil and let them heat up slowly on low to medium heat, everything you cook or bake will be amazing. They clean up the same as your glass or ceramic.
Oh, and the colors are gorgeous! Grenadine is my favorite, but I also have pieces in graphite gray, sesame and matte black because they were on sale. Believe it or not they all get used, some once a month, some several times a day.
When they are on sale grab them, don't be afraid of visual imperfections, most of my pieces were clearance items and the imperfections are so minor you never really know why they were deemed imperfect. I have bought upwards of 30 pieces, it is my favorite gift to give, there has been only one piece that had a very visible scratch on the enameled lid, the rest of them I'm still guessing as to why.
You can never have too many pieces of Staub.

Incredible Performance/Craftsmanship
While bought with done cosmetic imperfections, this pot still functions as an incredible STAUB product. Owned a “LeC”years ago. After 3 months of a lot of inside surface staining, I gave it away. Bought my first 4qt STAUB and never looked back. Superior workmanship, design and performance.

Another piece to my collection!!
This is my 8th piece from here and every piece has been perfect. I collect Staub and love their colors. The best cookware I’ve ever had! My son cooks and I have given him about 5 pieces and he loves how it cooks. I bought this 8.5 for us to share and pass down to his boys. With 3 boys, we will need this size.

No imperfections here...
This Cocotte arrived in perfect condition looking brand new. My wife and I saw no issues. I was worried because there are no returns on the imperfect pots, but it was all for nothing. Tremendous savings here...

A must have!
I love my grey Staub 8.5 qt pot! The visiual imperfections were slight. I made the bread recipe in it, and the crust turned out great! Worth the investment for a large durable pot.

I want to know its size count cm? Or converted 8.5-qt out "cm?
The cocotte is 17" (43.2 cm) long w/handles, and 14" (35.6 cm) long w/o handles; 10.75" (27.3 cm) wide; and 7.25" (18.4 cm) high w/lid, and 5" (12.7 cm) deep.

what is the dimension of the oven? we have electrical glass cooking top, and I want to make sure the bottom of the oven would be able to cover the largest burner. Thanks,
The dimensions, with the lid, are 17" (l) x 14 1/2" (w) x 7" (h).
