Rated 5 out of 5 by from They had me at the chicken knob! Not really but it's a whimsical addition to a beautiful pot. An oval cocotte is a very versatile shape for cooking not only soups, stews and chili but whole chickens and roasts fit in this shape as well. Staub cast iron is surrounded by 3 layers on enamel on the interior and 3 layers of a beautiful glaze on the exterior. No need to season these pots and they can even go in the dishwasher if necessary. Interior is slightly textured for a perfect brown or sear and easy release. No wonder restaurants prefer to cook in Staub. This pot will not disappoint.

It's a perfect size for large stews, chilis, whole roasts and of course- Chicken Coq Au Vin!This pot will heats quickly and hold an even temperature throughout the cooking process. Everything you would expect from a Staub cast iron. Exceptional craftsmanship and quality. The innovative black matte interior provides remarkable heat distribution and retention. The creative dimples under the lid provide continuous moisture flow. Easy release and clean up! Stunning Caviar Color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This coq au vin is so versatile. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly, also stays hot for hours. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - nothing dries out and the food stays moist. I often pan fry burgers in the pan as the searing capability of the pan is amazing. Also, the high walls prevent grease from getting on the stove top. My favorite think to make with this pan is a roasted chicken, just divine.

The cast iron construction quickly and evenly distributes heat throughout the cooking process while the interior cooking surface ensures even browning. The lid features self-basting spikes allowing for moisture to evenly distribute and produce better more flavorful results every time. And who doesn't love that cute rooster knob?!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful black Staub! Gorgeous piece. The black matte enamel interior browns and caramelizes beautifully. Heats up evenly and retains it's heat well. The self basting spikes constantly put moisture back into your creation keeping it moist and full of flavor! Great for soups, chili or sauces on the stovetop or roasting in the oven. The black exterior is stunning. The rooster knob adds a fun detail.
